For the second year in a row, Lexus has topped the J.D. Power U.S. Sales Satisfaction Index (SSI) study, placing first among luxury brands and scoring highest overall.
Two years since its launch, the Lexus LFA is in the final months of its 500-unit production run, and remaining inventory "is down to single digits", according to Tim Morrison, Lexus USA vice president of sales.
WardsAuto spoke with Tim Morrison, Lexus USA’s vice president-sales and dealer development, about the increased pressure from dealerships for a North American-built ES.
According to Response.jp, more than 6,000 GS models have been pre-ordered by Japanese customers, which is ten times more than the original sales goal of 600 units a month.
“We hope to sell 100,000 of our Lexus vehicles here in China in 2013, as we are on track to recover from this year’s earthquake,” said Kenji Nakashima, senior vice-president of Lexus China.
Lexus USA has reported August 2011 sales of 18,103 units, and while that’s down 10.6% compared to 2010, it’s a very good result compared to the previous three months — especially when it comes to the CT 200h.
AutoGuide has run the Lexus CT 200h sales numbers, and despite its late March launch and earthquake-delayed inventory, the hybrid hatchback sits as the top-selling compact luxury car in the USA.
After dismal sales in May & June due to the Tōhoku earthquake in Japan, the USA July sales figures show Lexus starting their climb back to normal volume
I was warned that the June sale figures would be a repeat of last month, and that turned out to be scarily accurate as Lexus sales dropped 40.2% (as opposed to 40.0% in May) as the repercussions from the March 11 Earthquake continue to be felt.
While there's no question that the Tōhoku earthquake has affected Lexus production, Bloomberg has used some sleight-of-hand reporting in their recent article about the brand's Japanese sales, making it appear much worse than it really is.
Every once and a while, I'll read a review or article about Lexus and notice an inaccuracy -- usually a minor technical point or some obscure historical fact. Mistakes happen, no problem.
What's unusual is to see an article built on nothing but mistakes, where even elementary facts are ignored -- but that's what I found with Nelson Ireson's Motor Authority editorial on how the Lexus LFA is a failure.
Lexus USA has published their sales figures for May, and if anything, it shows the drastic effect the 2011 Tōhoku earthquake has had on the Japanese automaker.

There’s an interesting article in Businessweek about how Lexus is performing in China — here are some quotes: Lexus sold just a fifth of luxury leader Audi’s tally last year in the world’s biggest car market. It also trails BMW and Daimler’s Mercedes. Although Lexus sales in China grew 61 percent, to 49,000 cars, last …
It’s entirely possible I’m reading this translated article wrong, but according to Dutch newspaper De Telgraaf, Lexus Netherlands received 1,000 pre-orders for the CT 200h — a remarkable number considering that last year, only 700 Lexus were sold in the country! The newspaper attributes the brisk sales to the hatchback’s exemption from road tax, but …

The New York Times (and many other outlets) is reporting that the Lexus CT 200h will start with a €21,000 when it goes on sale in Europe next year. The natural question turns to how that translates into the North American price—a direct, euro-to-dollar conversion would currently mean a starting MSRP of $28,755 USD, putting …
