Lexus July 2012 Sales Report

USA

Lexus USA has reported total sales of 18,235 for July 2012, an improvement of 35.9% over last year — here it is model-by-model:

Total Sales 18,235 14,539 35.9 126,367 102,549 23.2

Please note, all percentages are calculated by the Daily Sales Rate (DSR), which takes into account the number of days in the month that dealerships could sell cars. July 2012 had 24 selling days, July 2011 had 26 selling days.

While the sales increase may not be on the same scale as May & June (61% and 79% respectively), Lexus continues to rebound from last year’s inventory shortage caused by the tsunami in Japan.

Individually, the GS maintains its 400+ percent improvement over 2011, and the 2013 RX update had a strong month in its first month of availability — however, the most impressive number is the ES, as 2012 inventory is moved out to make way for the new 2013 model.

Now on to August, the U.S. Golden Opportunity event will be full swing just as the 2013 ES starts arriving at dealerships — should be a big sales month.

Canada

Lexus Canada sold a total of 1,107 units in July, making for an 18.3% increase over last year. Amazingly, the GS 350 jumped 1485.7% in sales, and the GS 450h climbed 1200%.

The Lexus ES cannibalises sales of the GS The 5 series is very much bread n butter for BMW.. 5 & 3 series.. Plus the 5 series is cheaper then GS350

I have taken notice that LEXUS is starting to offer lower monthly lease payments on the GS here in the NY area. The lease are very short term - 27 months which is kinda not like LEXUS.  I wouldn't be shocked to see even better lease terms on the GS after Labor day.
