According to the monthly sales call with Lexus USA General Manager Mark Templin, sales were right on target for the month of September, though the 1,444 CT 200h sales were in fact 50% higher than expected.

With the fourth quarter starting this month, inventory is set to jump 22% over last year, including a 40% production increase from the RX 350 plant in Canada, so it’s quite possible we’ll be seeing some much improved numbers to end the year.

Japan

No specifics, but Reuters reports that Lexus sales in Japan jumped to 5,770, an increase of 59.9% over last year.

I want to see a gas version of the CT next year, if they want to maintain this sales momentum Next year will be a big year for Lexus anyway, with the ES, IS, and GS coming around. A Rav4-based SUV under the RX wouldn't be a bad idea A larger CUV over the RX wouldn't be a bad idea either. BD

I was afraid of that. I knew they really didn't expect to maintain their number one spot but I thought since sales were on target and actually well above target for the CT, plus considering the special editions coming for the LS, ES, and CT, that those sales might make up for the ones lost earlier in the year. Who is on track to beat them this year?

BMW and Mercedes will battle it out, and offer $5k incentives per unit, to win the crown from Lexus  Lincoln was the last one to hold the sales title since Lexus took over in 2000, so this is highly coveted by both companies, even though both are too proud to admit it BMW is ahead by 7k units with Q4 left.  They are the odds on favorite. The sales numbers are quite disappointing considering both BMW & Mercedes sold more units last month then August.. Mercedes sold 20,323 in August and they sold 23,428 last month BMW sold 20,815 in August and they sold 21,750 last month Lexus in the other hand shrank.. Lexus sold 18,103 in August and only 14,995 last month.. Why? I don't know

I live in Italy (In the region of Lazio) and is very easily to meet Lexus cars, even in my small city and that's a great thing considering the fact that Italy is the worst place to sell Lexus so I don't believe that you never met a single Lexus in Europe.
