by the looks of the license plates, one must become a florida man as well?Oh i'm envious. I don't know how these 'guests' land these but i need to network some more it seems.

- Parker Thompson and Ben Barnicoat in the No. 89 Vasser Sullivan Lexus won by 1.449 seconds over Robby Foley and Patrick Gallagher in the No. 96 Turner Motorsport BMW M4 GT3.
- The race celebrated 1989—the year that Lexus came to the United States.
- The No. 89 was an amalgamation of the Vasser Sullivan team’s two-car Lexus team that is normally split between the GTD and GTD Pro classes—GTD Pro did not race at Long Beach this year.
I'm watching it live as well. It is such a joy to watch No7 climb the ladder from the last position to third. This year could be our year after that horrible BOP (and also that mistake from Hirakawa) last year that made Ferrari win. Fingers crossed!Currently watching the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans. With 14 hours, 5 minutes, and 10 seconds to go, Lexus are FIRST and THIRD in the LMGT3 class in the World Endurance Championship.
They have been doing poorly the first 3 races, be it due to bad luck, Akkodis ASP not being able to understand their car, and the BoP being less favorable than it is in IMSA. With that said, the RC F LMGT3 is a beast in the straights, and it's ALL straights in Le Mans, so naturally, the Lexus cars are FLYING.
The 78 Lexus had to start in the pit lane due to it having to be repaired when it got impaled by the number 7 Toyota in practice several hours before the race, but the Lexus stood on the brakes for some inexplicable reason. But alas, it was at least a sector behind the rest of the pack in the beginning of the race, but they climbed up. The 87 Lexus (which has IMSA's Jack Hawksworth in it), was in the middle of the pack, and is now leading. The 87 Lexus has successfully sparred some great McLarens, Porsches, Lamborghinis among other brands and is leading the LMGT3 pack and the 78 Lexus is currently third.
The number 7 Toyota in Hypercar had an unbelievable amount of bad luck in qualifying and had to dealt with that practice shunt as well, and like the 78 Lexus, was moving leisurely earlier in the race, but as time passed, they found pace and is now THIRD. The number 8 Toyota? Started 12th. Now? First.
Don't forget that freakin' squirrel that decided to commit terrorism for the number 8 car last year.I'm watching it live as well. Toyota got robbed when the 51 spun the 8 out as well. It was super unfair.Ferrari driving for the whole sting with unlatched doors.... okay! Broken headlight? No problem Ferrari keep driving. Toyota threw this one with that racing incident but it shows you how super fast they are when fuel goes low and the BoP weight is negated.
