WHAT ELSE:

  • Toyota TRD Performance Package for Tundra
  • A variety of other current and upcoming TRD Pro and Trailhunter trucks

One step closer to a GR Tacoma. I’m telling ya, if Toyota can build a V35 Tacoma and give it the Ford Raptor treatment, Toyota will sell a ton of them.

How many SEMA concepts came out as reality before? Are they serious with a low rider performance truck?

I don't think any SEMA concepts have shipped as-is, but they give an idea what TMC is thinking. In this case I assume we'll see a lowered performance TRD Taco at some point, but not a full-on low rider.

The X-Runner Concept benefits from a modified i-FORCE 3.4-liter twin-turbocharged V6 producing 421 horsepower with 479 lb-ft of peak torque. A Tundra solid axle with 4.30:1 final drive and an electronic locking differential splits the torque to the rear wheels, while a custom side exhaust exits just below the rocker panel.

The Tundra rear axle fits much better than I would’ve thought on the Tacoma. I wonder if they narrowed the axle?

I don’t think there’s much of a market for street trucks, but I do really like the concept.
