Literally Tesla's biggest selling point the last few years has been its own supercharging network. That's a real big brain move firing nearly everyone from the supercharging department, that'll help in the long run. Seems like Tesla will wind up going the way of Twitter if Elon stays in charge.

My first thoughts...

Tesla wants to build state-of-the-art EVs, yet they do not want to build the special high-speed charging infrastructure that allows their EVs to operate more efficiently and effectively?

Does anyone know what the Supercharger department is responsible for? Is it just building the Supercharger network or is it also responsible for maintaining the network?

And this is coming soon after Tesla is opening up its Supercharger network to other automakers. Are they trying to give with one hand but take away with the other?

Get industry to commit to your standard and then let it rot on the vine, forcing them to shift back to their own solutions which you can then plug into since they already engineered around your plugs, standards, etc.

Reports suggest that Tesla might have to rehire some of its laid off staff to grow the Supercharger network

Tesla is in the midst of several big shifts and part of the seismic activity is laying off around 10 percent of its workforce. Recently, the automaker let go of approximately 500 employees from the Supercharger charging network team.

However, due to the necessity of maintaining the network and fulfilling obligations resulting from a $17 million federal grant, Tesla may now need to reconsider and rehire some of those individuals.

According to Bloomberg, the automaker is already in talks to rehire several people on the Supercharger team. That would appear to be the only way, outside of hiring all new employees or contracting out the work, for Tesla to meet both its obligation to create additional infrastructure but also to keep its own network up and running.

We’ve reached out to Tesla for clarification on the situation, but as it doesn’t have a public relations department, we’ll likely see all 41 of those charging stations built before it gets back to us.

I seem to be getting more and more as ubers and the build quality is atrocious. Feels like a kit car. Feels like a 20-30k car not a 40-70k one. It’s really perplexing to me.

Then on my last trip no joke i’m with my wife and kid sitting in the back and the front passenger seat randomly starts reclining and it won’t stop and pushing my legs down. The guy had to pull over and use the seat controls to pull it up.

Depends on which one you go for...like you can get the model y is a little over 30k and a good value for a lot of people.

After Tinucci had cut between 15% and 20% of staffers two weeks earlier, part of much wider layoffs, they believed Musk would affirm plans for a massive charging-network expansion.
