Toyota won 1-2 at Fuji which also means they won the manufacturers title for 2023 with "the REAL competition" 🤣

Next years going to be even more interesting with BMW, Lamborghini and Alpine joining.

Hell yeah! We've been wiping the floor with the competition all season and I can't wait for the new entries to come next year so we can kick their asses too.

It's a good thing that both Toyotas eventually managed to overtake that #6 Porsche and get back in 1st and 2nd place, that dive bomb and forcing other drivers to go so far off the track in the first corner during race start by that Porsche is pure nasty driving.

And for FIA to conveniently rig the BOP just before Le Mans again.
That's very true. Just for the terrorists at Porsche to stop whining.

And have one of the Toyotas get torpedoed in the backside by multiple cars from the lower classes.
AND have a squirrel running onto the middle of the track torpedoing the other Toyota and destroying their momentum.

Yup. Porsche terrorism. Plain and simple.

Apparently, Toyota is going to support Subaru to re-enter WRC.
Hmm Interesting, when they say "Subaru does not have an engine" does it mean the engine itself or the hybrid system or both? I don't follow WRC much, not familiar with the regulations.

Engine. The chassis is based on a spaceframe architecture so that's not important but they all also have 1.6L engines. Subaru doesn't have anything of that nature and they only build boxer engines.

Current Rally1 cars' engines aren't based on production engines.

I know Rally1 cars are basically silhouette cars but if Subaru does return to WRC, what car are they even going model their Rally1 car after since they don't have their own subcompact car to act as a design base? Or they'll just make a one-off exterior design that vaguely resembles current Subaru's styling?

wow

Yup!

It's crazy to think that it took all these years for Toyota/Lexus to join the GT classes of the WEC. The RC F GT3 has been out for almost a decade. You would have thought Toyota would have done something with the GR Supra, but I digress.

This will be a transitional period until the LFR GT3 comes in 2026. Toyota/Lexus cannot abandon the class and wait for the LFR GT3 to be developed because the ACO (which is the main sanctioning body for the WEC) will give away Toyota's slots to any other manufacturer that's not in the Hypercar class.

If that was confusing, basically, every Hypercar manufacturer like Toyota, Ferrari, Cadillac/GM, Peugeot, Porsche/VW, Glickenhaus (well, they're about to leave soon) are granted two slots in the LMGT3 class. However, if you don't capitalize on it, those slots will be given away to a manufacturer that is not in the Hypercar class. Who would take those spots? Well, manufacturers like Aston Martin, McLaren, Mercedes-Benz all want to participate. It is likely Aston Martin will get two spots regardless of the presence or absence of the Hypercar manufacturers given how dedicated they are to the GT classes in previous years. However, manufacturers like Mercedes-Benz and McLaren will try to capitalize on the empty slots if anyone from the Hypercar manufacturers chooses to not participate in the LMGT3 class. And if you snooze, you lose.

For this reason, Lexus is bringing in the RC F GT3 to the WEC for two years to serve as a transitional period, before the LFR GT3 comes in 2026.

EDIT: End of 3rd paragraph should say "NOT in the Hypercar class".
