I am hearing rumors they won't sell the GX550 in the Middle East.

it would end up costing more than a mid spec/upper mid spec twin 6 300 with 409hp.
Maybe that's why?

If i had to guess, if anything they'll get a stripped out prado derivative.

Don't hold your breath for any PHEV for the GX as there would've been a trademark for it. Maybe by the time the facelift comes out in 3-4 years there might be a PHEV, but don't count on it for now.
Thanks. Interesting. Wonder why they hesitated on PHEV for GX.

some of the test mules had lc300 bodies, pretty cool. Judging by the fact they didn't need to put any camo on the LC300 body means that when these tests were filmed the 300 had already made its debut. Doesn't mean much I guess but I just like these little details.

Thank you!! Very helpful!

Interesting that you need to go all the way to the top trim (Luxury+) to get a digital rearview mirror and a panoramic moonroof unless I am missing something.

I know this is subjective but for those who drove similar Toyota powertrains to those in the new GX (TTV6 and 2.4 l4 Hybrid), any thoughts on performance and driving fun factor vs gain/loss in fuel economy between these two powertrains?

Still really like it (exterior mostly) after pouring through the videos, photos, posts, etc.

The $16 to $10,000 watch analogy makes no sense. Nobody is comparing this vehicle to something that costs 600 times less.

Interior is very lackluster. Just is. You can be "refined" and "execute" and even be very offroad/outdoor friendly with a far nicer interior. Lazy interior focused on profitability imho.

17 mpg is unacceptable at launch. TMC/Lexus has far too much experience with hybrids for this to be acceptable for an aspirational vehicle with a 2024 launch.

Kills my soul pointing out faults of a vehicle of which in the past I've never felt a closer emotional connection to. That being said, have to be honest and this forum can't all be fanboys lauding a vehicle and brand that frankly does not punch above it's weight class the way the brand I first fell in love with did.

TX is incredibly ugly. Ick.

Whats up with all Lexus SUVs that have some sort of set limit on 10 way adjustable seats only? Even ES has 14 way seats, GS and LS have 18 way which not even LX offers.

well well well

So the GX becoming a fullsize G wagon competitor
With Prado will be Defender / Wrangler / Bronco

And the Landcruiser itself with the LX will be more urban

Sequoia will be the longest and biggest

Fortuner/Hilux , 4Runner/Tacoma will be the midsize

The Land Cruiser 300 is more capable offroad than the new GX so far just from looking at specs.
Yes, dome variants of the LC300 have bigger wheels and lower bumpers but the versions that don't (like the GR sport/mid spec/lower spec) versions are more offroad capable.
Some versions of the LC300 can be had with a front locker, can't get that in the GX.

The LC300 version with the non city low bumpers also has better clearance/angles than the new GX.
The GX with its huge mirrors also is overall wider than the LC300, again making it less suitable on tight trails.

That's exactly what I was talking about

TMC needs a G wagon competitor with the same body styling
Prado can go with Bronco, Wrangler and Defender
So the LX can go head 2 head with Range Rover Vogue
Sequoia with the Americans
So that LC300 and + sustain its imagine
