Y'know.. I wonder if we're seeing this so late because Lexus decided to change the body of the ES compared to what we were shown in 2021 as the teaser?

Well at least the taillight bar has Lexus lettering in the center to break apart the overdone bar that whole industry is doing right now.

If it's coming with Direct 4, don't know if it would make any difference to 99,9% of the target audience.

I don't know how you would define a "RWD biased" eAWD car because by definition it can be 100% FWD or 100% RWD.

I adjusted the exposure a bit in photoshop. I guess they had already anticipated that someone (like me) would do this, so they did some special processing to ensure nothing can be revealed too easily. Still, you can more or less make out some clues.

Notice the rear "L E X U S" logo. It looks kinda familiar, like I've seen it somewhere before......oh wait!

True but I'm holding off any BEV until batteries are much better so RWD biased ES500h would be interesting.

We will know the specs next week anyway.

It seems to have a really thick hood bulge. I wonder if it's because the engine bay is designed for the shorter 1.5T/2.0T engine but to accommodate the A25 they have to keep a hood bulge for early model years.

Now that I mentioned it, I just realized most Lexus GA-K models have substantial hood bulges because of how tall the A25 and T24 are.

I’ll be honest after driving a Tx 350 AWD and being shocked at how well it drove, I think Lexus will continue to nail handling.
