I keep hearing that they’ll retain a V6 option, but for now, take that with a grain of salt.

I can’t believe I’m saying this but from the teaser, the rear looks like the AMG-GT coupe 😂

so are they skipping that interior update version with the slightly changed rear lights and larger screen?

LEXUS to unveil the all-new ES on April 23rd at the Shanghai International Automobile Industry Exhibition (April 23 - May 2)*. Details of the all-new ES, a global flagship model that refines advanced electrification technologies and pursues further evolution of its the hallmark quietness and ride comfort, will be announced at a press conference in the Lexus booth on April 23rd

The LS is dead.

The wheelbase will be 2940 mm
terrible fastback rear. It looks like it is the EV model.
The current generation ES wheelbase is 2870 mm, so it seems this new model will be 70 mm (2.76 inch) longer.
The current generation LS wheelbase is 3125 mm.
The last generation GS wheelbase was 2850 mm.

This suggests it may be the ES EV model. Kirk Kreifels claims that, based on insider information, the ES EV would be introduced first, followed later by the hybrid models.
Funny how three languages all defined it differently.

English: flagship
Japanese: 基幹(mainstay)
Chinese:重磅("heavyweight", i.e. crucial)
Is this a translation issue or could it be a subtle hint that there are changes to regional lineups? Perhaps there will be an LS in certain parts of the world (but not in the global west)?

With a large EV sedan (and the electric motor(s) at the proper end of the car), it could be named ES EV, LS EV or GS EV, as long as we accept that GS and LS must not only be ICE-powered.

They always find a way to ruin a beautiful design

Some like myself will disagree. Many TNGA products have incredibly impractical designs, one of the major flaws of many TNGA products. The front end of this new ES looks to be a bit more of a practical design than the current generation.

D'oh! I was thinking about the LS. Thank you.
