Those latest spy photos show the body creases which are indeed very close to the concept. Previous pics did a pretty good job of hiding that through camouflage.

I am assuming Tokyo debut for this car? October/November?

That is what CarandDriver reported a months ago. It is suppose to be a 'near production' concept. Kind of what BMW does.

Another rendering, its not perfect but you guys get the idea of how a possible air vent could look. While I was at it I shorten both the hood and wheel base to better match the prototype.

I know I keep saying it, but I look forward to seeing this thing unwrapped because I just can't tell if it's going to be a good looking car based on spy shots. I heard that it is indeed a stunner and very close to FT-1, but in these pics, I keep seeing 90's Mitsubishi Eclipse and bubbly proportions.

Those spy shots of the BMW car look really nice - it might have better proportions than the Supra.

Someone on another forum said the driver appears to be Asian, maybe Akio?

If you look at the driver closely, I think that could be Randy Pobst. Toyota and Lexus have both relied on him to drive prototype cars, and that driver looks a lot like Randy:

I think it could be Randy... I'm going to tweet him and see if he responds. Worth trying at least lol.

In the mean time this is what it looks like when you shrink the concept to fit the prototype's proportion.

^I don't believe the Supra will be auto-only. They've committed to a manual in the 86 and I believe there have been comments from Toyota executives about maintaining manuals in performance offerings that are "fun to drive."

Furthermore, I don't know that a collection of build codes should be taken as the gold standard at this stage of the game. Very often, model and numeric codes are thrown up for consideration, many drop off, many new ones are developed, etc.

What's most interesting is the 30i and 40i designations. That makes me wonder if the Supra will just be receiving BMW engines - turbo 2.0L 4cyl, turbo 3.0L I6. Again, I think that too could change or refer to production lines or runs.

I heard previously, from a good source, that the Supra would have the new LS's 3.5L TT V6. Who really knows? It could break out any number of ways, but I can see the North American offering being a 3.0L I6 from BMW (~350hp) as base and the 3.5L TTV6 as the top tier engine (~475-500hp).
