No surprises here but still exciting to see it’s pretty much ready. I just hope they don’t drag it out 4 months like they did with Tundra.

Is i-Force Max referring to the 3.4 or is the 2.4 also considered i-Force

What about the HP and TQ estimates? If it can get about 340ish HP and 370ish lb-ft TQ that would be nice. This is a big improvement comparing to the current 3.5L V6 as well as the old 4.0L V6

Tundra gains +50hp +100lbft wit the hybrid. Assuming the gas engine makes say 260hp 325lbft, hybrid makes 310hp 425lbft. Should be somewhere around there.

The Tundra hybrid only gains 140N.m from a 250N.m motor because the torque curves of the ICE and MGU don't overlap.

The motor makes 250N.m from 0 to 1375rpm and falls to 143N.m at the ICE's peak torque rpm of 2400rpm.

And the root cause of all of this is Toyota really really hates lithium ion batteries.

From the BlueNexus spec sheets the 2.4T P2 hybrid is rated up to 250kW(335hp) and 550N.m(405lb.ft).

And before they took it down their website BlueNexus listed a 200kW/350N.m hybrid system which I believe is the A25-based P2 hybrid. We don't know whether it would be used eventually.

Well now that the New York auto show is here, we’ll see the Tacoma reveal sometime over the next 2 weeks I’d guess, since it ends on the 16th. Hurry up Toyota!

I’m really digging what I’m seeing so far. I wouldn’t be surprised if we see the LC300 front diff locker in the Trail Hunter and TRD Pro. ZR2, Bronco, and Wrangler have front diff lockers, so it would be uncompetitive for Toyota not to offer it.

Toyota just made a Facebook post and confirmed the 2024 Tacoma will be available with a manual transmission! Yes!!

My assumption is this will be on non-hybrid models only, but if they can add a manual to the hybrid (like Honda did with the CRZ), then cool!

[Edit] Motor beat me to it. 😄
