CRSKTN: I am pretty sure Toyoda is probably allowed to get a Century GRMN, considering the goal of Century is to be extremely bespoke. My guess is the vast majority of these cars sold will be bespoke

Let me explain something to you: I am NOT guessing at this stuff. I *know* this for a fact just like I know he had to get BOARD approval to mess around with custom century vehicles.

The vast majority are NOT "bespoke" in that way. If you think they will build you a bright pink century like RR will nowadays, you are wrong.

Its gonna be $250k at least i have heard.

Alright. I will just wait for the price to come out. It is surprising that they are targeting such a high-end market without going bespoke. I just got my license and it sucks to see my dream cars being bastardized. I have been a fan of TMC for as long as I can remember.

This is going to be a hot take but for GRGT I am honestly okay with the racing-first philosphy. Typically a racing car translates better into a roadcar than a roadcar does into a racecar. The Toyota testing grounds are good, and Akio is infact a racing driver. I don't think all of this is that bad. I like what he has been doing overall for Gazoo Racing (which I think is good as its own brand). For me the problem lies solely with Lexus being a sacrificial lamb. I don't think the car is costing half a million dollars. I think it will be around 150-200k. What troubles me is that there is a way to do this but not at the expense of the Lexus brand. Simone Humphreys would be a cool guy to talk to I have some ideas for him haha.
We’ve all been badly fooled. The GR GT was always meant to be a Lexus LFR and that engine on it was originally developed for the LC F. Back in the days of the Lexus Performance Driving School, the chief test driver even told us about it. So the GR GT is definitely a last minute Toyota decision, a project that Lexus had already set in motion under the name LFR. The trademark for LFR was filed before GR GT ever existed. Toyota just slammed the brakes and took it for themselves

You have a generation of reliable used cars to enjoy my man, but sorry to hear it.

Toyota has always had a "we know what is best for you" attitude.

I am sure going forward Century will continue to ease up as Akio tries to sell it.

It literally has an ES steering wheel and IS interior. Its completely shameless.

They didnt even bother with any LFA branding on the concept.

Watch, if the BEV LFA ends up being popular he will be back in ten years on stage hooked up to life support telling us about how his biggest humiliation and regret is that everything good that ever happened wasn't attributed to or named after him.

I am telling you, behind closed doors people like this are demented and broken.

GR GT vs NSX 2G anyone? Which one would you pick? What? ..Too soon?

At least Sports Concept LFA concept looks stunning. Pure sports car design perfection. And it boasts defunct 5GS headlights so there is continuity. Also solid state batteries in BEV are big pipe dream.

#5 might explain why they've minimized the hybrid talk. It looks like a 48v mild hybrid that adds little to no HP. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same unit from the LC Prado mild hybrid in Europe.

The interior on the GR GT is **** at a quarter million dollars. I hate the wheel and the vents the most, the rest is ok. The seats are also quite ugly for racing buckets, and they don't even make them inhouse which is a shame. This car should be priced from 150k MAXIMUM.

1) It was “born from humiliation.”

Specifically, Toyota Group chairman Akio Toyoda’s first visit to the Nürburgring 20 years ago, at a time when other makers of performance cars didn’t consider Toyota to be a credible rival, in an era when the Japanese brand didn’t sell a single sports model. “I will never forget that feeling of humiliation,” Toyoda said in his speech at the unveiling, “the pain is definitely the force that drives me even now.” The GR is the end point of that quest for redemption.
this is psychotic lol

You have gotta be fucking kidding me. Audi and Porsche it is I guess.
Wrong brands to be going for IMO.

As an Audi owner I really dislike the current direction of the brand. As well as Porsche.

Porsche and Audi have both seen their fair share of cost-cutting interior wise, from reduced leather and wood usage inside to excessive piano black plastic usage, as well as harder plastic materials on the doors and lower center consoles. Not to mention the removable of power-sunroofs in $50k+ cars in place of horrible fixed-glass roofs.

Audi right now has zero 2-door coupes in the lineup and the upcoming Concept C production model is only going to be EV, unlike the Porsche counterpart which will have ICE available (but limited to GTS and GT4 expensive trims)

There is some light at the end of the tunnel for Audi.. the upcoming PHEV B10 RS5 could possible have a full ICE variation for the US, and the C9 RS 6 which has been developed using a more powerful version of the 2.9ttV6 PHEV is currently undergoing internal review to switch back to a V8 development.. but if that doesn't get approved we are unfortunately getting a V6 RS 6 Avant.

BMW is the brand to look at right now, despite ugly designs, the Neue Klasse design is refreshingly new and a step forward for the brand. And they are keeping consistent with ICE and EV developments and offerings.

Wait yeah you are right. I mainly like Porsche. The Audis I would want to consider are vehicles like the upcoming Q9 as I mainly just like them for their daily drivers, though if interior quality persists I may enjoy else where. I just hate the NK design a lot, and the interior design is almost tesla-esque. I think for me then maybe the brand to follow could potentially be Mercedes. Their designs seem to be slowly healing, and I also their presence in motorsport (though I REALLY want them to expand to an LMDH programme). I think if BMW had an f1 program I may like them more idk. I am a huge racing fan. I also hope that we see more premium materials in cars like the upcoming X5. The X7 design also looks promising from spyshots. In addition to this they also need an ACTUAL supercar to replace the attrocious bmw XM.

If they managed to get sub-7 at Nurburgring with that kind of power-to-weight ratio, I would actually give them credit where credit is due.

Yeah I have to give them credit here. Its a good thing its not some crazy big hybrid system, because sure you get more power but you also get a lot more weight and end up with something like a BMW M5 or GT63SE
