🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️

That is both shameless and worse than the door cards of the LC500.

This is literally a worse interior than the LC.

These people are hacks. I hope Toyota fails to find footing in China and Akio has to spend his last years turning tricks on the autobahn.

The whole thing is a lift from other Lexus' and Akio's AMG GT.

On one hand, I wish it were a Lexus, but on the other hand, when I saw how ugly the actual car looks, I was relieved it wasn't a Lexus. BestCarWeb’s render back then was a bit too good-looking, which made my expectations way too high.

Road and Track

Article attached for reference.
#5 might explain why they've minimized the hybrid talk. It looks like a 48v mild hybrid that adds little to no HP. I wouldn't be surprised if it's the same unit from the LC Prado mild hybrid in Europe.
With a battery that size it cannot be a 48V mild hybrid. BMW's 48V battery fits in the same place as the standard 12V. Porsche managed to cram in a strong hybrid battery in a slightly larger package than the 12V.

Also the car weighs 1750kg so the hybrid system should be pretty heavy, in the similar range as the iForce Max system which weighs ~120kg.

So based on the information we have right now, this should be closest to the RX500h / LX700h type of hybrid system, right? I feel like at least around 700 hp would be barely acceptable - 650 hp for a car launching in late 2026 or early 2027 is DOA!

The funny part is the GT3 gives away what the Lexus version would've looked like because they didn't change the shape of the headlight/taillight housings.

The headlight has the upside down L-shape DRL cut-out (no actual lighting there though) that the LFR would've used, similar to the Lexus TX and LBX lights.

And the taillights would've had the L-shaped rectangular lighting , as opposed to the weird afterthought curve on the production taillights.

While I agree I still would have taken this over the EV LFA. Atleast it has a firebreathing V8 under the hood.

This sounds terrible...

Not even garage acoustics could help.

Meanwhile here's the LFA, under a gas station, recorded by a crappy smartphone mic:
To be fair the 10000rpm Temerario also sound weak. Noise regulation is something manufacturers really can do nothing about. Popping sounds (they are fake BTW) are the only way they can to somewhat improve exhaust sound.

IT EVEN HAS THE LEXUS HANDLES AND DOORHANDLES AHAHA. I think its expected to be sold at Lexus dealers.
Yup it is. Select dealers will start selling the GR-exclusive products and the Century products as well, which is a good decision. I have reasonably good hopes for how the GR-stuff turns out. They seem to be focusing on enthusiast cars which is nice. It is just a shame Lexus didn't follow suit.

So top gear is saying the car will be 100K GBP so around 135K USD. This is REALLY good. It can actually bring the fight to things like the C8. It is also saying its more of a 2000GT successor. The LFA successor is the electric thing (something I have low hopes for but I would be happy to be proven wrong. I think Solid State batteries could potentially make it a decent car.)

Given Lexus's involvement with EVs I want to see them in Formula E.

Some of us actually have insider knowledge of stuff. I've shown Gecko stuff that will never see the light of day. People here have shared the same with me.

Toyoda is actively de-centering it.

It's never been a focus or something they're serious about other than low hanging luxury margin fruit, and a test bed for offerings they didn't want to risk having under the Toyota brand.

Kirk is literally just a public figure promoting vehicles and creating entertaining videos. Nobody is giving dudes like that actual insider anything. That's not an insult, it's just reality, the real intent is hidden and held back for a core group of people who operate below the line. Everyone else needs air to breath, and are above it.

He's an extension of their public relations and marketing team. Their entire value proposition is being yes-men for corporates in exchange for access. Just the way it works. Larry Chen, others are no different.

And yes, Akio is stupid. He was born into a position he isn't qualified for and he's propped up by harder working people than himself. If that company had actual visionary leadership do you know what they could actually deliver given their economies of scale?

Akio Toyoda is stupid and people who deify guys like him aren't on the ball either 🤷.
You win. I hate that you won. Not because I am petty, but because I know what it means for Lexus.

These journalists have their heads up their asses lol.

If an LC500 is 100k with a modular RWD platform and a somewhat mass produced V8, in what world is a GT3-derived essentially race-car for the rode with a far more bespoke aluminum architecture and engine designed just for it going to cost 100k as well lmao
