My lovely wife who isn’t a car person has never once asked me about a BMW. The other day she sees the new 5 series and asks me all about it. Which lets me who who BMW targets now.

My mom drives a G60 540i xdrive and aside from its questionable looks at certain angles, the driving experience is close to perfect. Very lexus like, but is still composed and firm. Steering is very light but direct…B58 speaks for itself. I always wonder what a modern GS would feel like with 3.4 from the LS but with a more responsive tune. The current Mirai already looks imposing cruising down the streets of LA.

Been seeing more and more and it feels like the new ES followed with the flat surfacing, long overhangs and massive growth. It’s like the depth of the lines arw all gone. Stupid computers ruining things.

Seems to be selling pretty well in LA as I see them all over. Just needs the right color and wheel combo. Driving experience is exceptional, my mom went from LS500 to 540i and IMO it’s better to drive. The interior is more comfortable minus the obvious difference in quality. We did have the 2019 model year which had an identity crisis so can’t comment on the most updated LS driving feel. The new ES got the same design treatment as the 5 series but arguably does not pull it off as well.

They are all over rental lots and the design is awful with the base wheels and chrome. I can’t believe how bad the 5 series looks.

The car was designed to sit on 21" Aerodynamic wheels and anything below that like 20" looks small or completely inappropriate 19" that looks like CUV combo on a sedan.
