From what I have heard, the memo has finally gotten to Japan that modern interiors are too barren and not nice enough for American buyers, but I'm not sure how long it will take for changes to be made.
I agree with you @LexDDas that I think the overall designs are nice, but the details have to be better: more soft touch material on doors, some sort of trim on dash and doors (wood, glass, carbon fiber, whatever), stitching on the dash and doors, better tech, and higher quality plastics. Interiors have always been Lexus' bread and butter, and I don't know how that got lost with these most recent products.
The only new product with an interior that I'd say is "up to par" is the RX. Every other one is disappointing.
