I posted this YouTube vid before, where someone from the management was talking about some new vehicles, he also talked about how wow the crown will be, and it will be like no other

Nothing on here about the Land Cruiser being a TNGA product or on a TNGA platform though, from what I saw. Just a brief look at it with the mention of 70th anniversary and 13 years since a new model.

When we saw some pictures of it:

It was next to the "old" LC200 chassis... And I don't remember any announcement from Toyota about factory investments to adapt it into the TNGA…

Maybe the LC300 will keep the same chassis and the LX will move into the TNGA-F to have more differentiation?

I think it will come down to marketing for the Land Cruiser 300... identical dimensions to the 200 platform mean the hard points didn't change, so it will be a progression or variation of the 200 platform. If they change some of the chassis bracing or weld technology... sure, they might call it "new" or say it is a TNGA platform, but I guess we will have to wait to see.

I am with you that I think the LX will move to the new F/F1 platform with the Tundra, Sequoia and others, and become a bit larger. It makes logical sense with what dealers and buyers want, and the new TX coming.

Hi all, I'm the automotive engineer with Toyota background who posted the Lexus LX rendering. The LX is on the new TNGA-F platform which was derived from the older 200 series (in terms of some frame/body spec), but it's not the same body anymore. Powertrain is also changed, so the TNGA-F platform refers to the entire system which includes not just the frame and the body but also the engine, transmission and suspension - the whole "ecosystem" is the TNGA system.

To be very clear, I have a long and fruitful relationship with Toyota (I've met Akio Toyoda more than dozen times) and therefore I will never, ever share any confidential corporate matters in any form. All of my videos and sharing are results of my own independent research outside Toyota using my background as a specialist in TPS (Toyota Production System). There is nothing I'm sharing that is confidential or something that would conflict NDA agreements.

I"m very happy to answer some questions but generally speaking, I try to limit my involvement with forums because there are many things that I cannot share or comment on, for those exact reasons (I have many friends at Toyota TMC still).

In fact, in a normal year, I would be visiting Toyota headquarters and Toyota factories 3 to 4 times and meet up with my usual contacts and friends there. Obviously with the current situation, that's been delayed several times.

Anyhow, thank you for many likes.... I will share what I can whenever I can.

That's fantastic. Many of us have been grateful to have that relationship with friends at TMC, TMNA, TCI and etc but some of us choose to keep anonymity of the relationship we have and the people we know with our favorite brand.

No offense, but saying you're "automotive engineer with Toyota background" and posting with a name like "Automotive Press" is a bit deceiving. For example, Toyota/Lexus has not revealed or released anything on TNGA-F platform or the new LX, but you're communicating it with certainty.

We're all here at LE to share a passion for Lexus, and cars in general.

With this in mind, don't know if this has been shared:

"The power unit may be equipped with a 3.5-liter, V6NA gasoline multistage hybrid system on the LS500h to discriminate against the current 5.7-liter, V8 gasoline, the 3.5-liter, V6 twin-turbo LX600, the 3-liter, V6 diesel LX500d, and the Land Cruiser 300."

"500h" with 354hp in a 5,500 - 6,000lb LX would be a disaster and has already been poorly received in the LS and LC. I just can't see that happening.

I would like to see a stronger tune of the V35A-FTS (~450hp, 500lb-ft) and then that TT V6 combined with a next gen hybrid system for something like 500-550hp. Anything less is going to be lackluster against Range Rover, BMW, Mercedes and even Lincoln.

V35A is not enough engine in the 5,000lb LS 500... not sure how it will move a 5,500 - 6,000lb LX with any authority in its current tune/form.

I'm sorry but I can't comment too much on this matter, I only said something since someone posted my video on this thread and I was tagged. I own a number of companies - one of them is Automotive Press which I have been operating for over 30 years. I am a global specialist in TPS and travel around the world on this subject, so I know exactly how the TNGA system works, how Toyota utilizes it to design vehicles, and how these cars are produced (I teach TNGA and TPS methods to companies all around the world). So I understand TNGA better than anyone else within the youtube community. I'm also the one who de-mystified and corrected the error regarding the twin turbo V-8 engine patent situation which almost every media picked up (someone in fact posted my video on this forum as well).

But honestly, I'm not here to boast, but just to share what I can whenever I can because I also own 7 Toyota/Lexus cars and so I am an owner as well. Anyhow, I am very careful as to what I share, which is why I never posted the Lexus NX leak because that one is clearly a breach of confidentiality in my eyes. With the recent massive leaks on the 2022 Land Cruiser, David Chao has a lot to share about the Land Cruiser and its closely related cousin, the 2022 Tundra.

No it's not, because the photos were taken in public places, versus the NX leak which was an actual marketing video leak - I've already checked with our legal team. Unless they apply other gear ratios to have a lower top speed and improve acceleration... It’s going to be slow, maybe even slower than the current LX570 V8!
