One Rebuild and a New V6 Later, Toyota Tundra Owner Says His Truck Still Stalls
This 2022 Tundra is included in Toyota's massive twin-turbo V6 recall, but even after the dealer rebuilt and eventually replaced the engine, his truck continues to give him problems.www.thedrive.com
When you dig into (real) owner communities, the V35A-FTS problems are unfortunately much broader than 2022-2023 gas models. Hybrids have been impacted and some 2024 models as well. I haven't heard anything on 2025s yet thankfully.
The media is doing what media does, but this engine has hurt Toyota's reputation for reliability with real owners and buyers. While they would be taking one on the chin, I wish Toyota would release some sort of "updated" V35A-FTS (V34A-FTS?) for 2026 or 2027 with official mention of revised components or engineering. I know Toyota doesn't want to acknowledge the broader problems, but it also feels like doing so and announcing a revision would give new buyers more confidence.
