We’re all thinking the same, this Crown will be the base for the next gen ES, but we’re not seeing any PHEV…
Does this means our next gen ES will go in the same path?

GA-L platform is very underutilized right now, so why not use it some more😂.

NX 450h+, RAV4 Prime, RX 450h+, TX 550h+... GA-K definitely supports PHEV.

But those are only SUV's... TMC is yet to launch or trademark any indication that a PHEV sedan is coming...

It feels like ES 450h+ or ES 550h+ is a given for next gen? All of the hardware is there... I think Toyota has just prioritized PHEV in CUVs due to market demand, but it's certainly possible :)

I'm betting new ES is:
ES 350h (240hp)
ES 500h (367hp)
ES 450h+/ES 550h+ (302hp/??)
... no more ICE-only model.

When do we foresee the next-gen ES coming out -- 2024 MY (seems unlikely?), 2025 or later?

I guess the related question is when we can expect the next-gen Camry (and the next ES coming a year after that) -- 2024 MY or later?

I think it's a safe bet that we will see a Toyota sedan first with all the powertrain you listed and then there would be no surprises with ES left when it comes out as MY25, As a matter of fact we already did with new Crown and we will se some more with new Camry which will have to have PHEV option.

That is what I thought of. But being hybrid V6TT it will be heavy.

GA-L-based Crown Coupe or Supra with the iForce Max 3.4L + hybrid system would probably weigh more than the Tundra TRD Pro. I cannot imagine.
The iForce Max required strengthening of most of the Tundra's driveline, hence the very high weight penalty (~220kg).

The strength is already built into GA-L so the extra weight is just the hybrid components. We can think of the LS500 basically as a LS-F with underpowered engine. The hybrid components are ~180kg combined for the Crown E-Four Advanced, but the longitudinal platform doesn't need the rear eAxle so the weight penalty is more like 130kg over the standard V35, and less than 50kg over the 3.5L multistage.

A LC with the 3.4T hybrid would weigh ~2100kg while LS would weigh ~2250kg, add another 85kg for AWD system.
