In collaboration with The Weinstein Company, Lexus will release five short films in 2013, collected under the title “Life is Amazing” — from the press release:
The directors will be chosen based on their previous work to create a new short film, three to six minutes in length.
Lexus selected the short film format as it represents a key expression of the future in cinematography. Each film will be developed by an individual director chosen from among the best up-and-coming talents in the industry. Each director will represent a different part of the world, as well as a different genre of filmmaking.
2012 Student Academy Award Winner Justin Tipping has been announced as the the first director, with the remaining four directors to be revealed shortly.
The first two films will be shown in February at an event in Los Angeles, with the entire series debuting in Tokyo later in that spring. Following these two premieres, the films will be available online.
