For the second consecutive year, Lexus is the highest ranking brand in the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study.
This marks the fourteenth time in twenty-three years that Lexus has topped this study, which focuses on problems experienced by owners in the first 90 days of ownership. Lexus averaged 73 problems per 100 vehicles (PP100), putting them just ahead of Jaguar’s 75 PP100 — here’s the chart for some perspective:
As for individual models, Lexus captured three segment awards: the ES for Entry Premium car; the RX for Midsize Premium Crossover SUV; and the LS for Large Premium Car.
In related news, two Lexus production facilities were awarded with Plant Assembly Line Quality Awards: the Cambridge South plant in Ontario received a Gold Quality Award, and the Kyushu 2 plant in Japan earned a Silver Quality Award.
