2013 Lexus GS 450h Launch Video

Here’s the just-released launch video for the 2013 Lexus GS 450h:

The LED headlights are beautifully detailed, but I’m surprised that they appear to be the only significant exterior difference between the GS 450h and the GS 350. This marks a shift in strategy for Lexus, which had previously used a different front grille to differentiate the hybrid from the conventional model.

New headlights are awesome!!!  Thankfully the grille stays the same!! The current LS600h and GHh grilles are ugly....

    I don't know -- I'm a huge fan of the current GS hybrid grille. I would have liked to have seen it on all the Lexus hybrids.

Great video. I find it interesting the trunk has a "Lexus" emblem given Lexus stopped installing the word "Lexus" starting in 2011.

    This video is from Lexus Europe, they have stopped using the "Lexus" emblem on the trunk only for North American cars.

Yeah that's much better cuz the previously grill fitted on the GS restyling was very ugly compared to the normal one fitted on non hybrid version.

This video was the first time I had seen the LED interior lighting on the doors; below the wood/aluminium trim and handle... it looks like a continuous strip; wish they could have done that "neon tube" look under the head lamps (instead of the multiple bulb look like the Audi's have)... still looks like Christmas Tree/Theater Aisle lighting to me. The analog clock looks fantastic... getting tired of the green digital units still found in most Toyotas.

    I'm not positive, but I don't think the European GS models get the leather shifter housing.

    This turned out to be incorrect -- I saw video footage of the GS 450h with a leather shifter cover.

Does the Lexus Hybrid engine have the engine noise problem cause by "piston slap".  I have a 2010 RX350 that is very noisy for about 10 minutes after start up.
