I don’t like they call the LC300 “symbolic”. It has versions with three locker, better interior than LC250, V6 diesel that the LC250 doesn’t have, covered door frames…etc.

LC200 was too expensive for US market, the they did not bring LC300. Instead they brought the Prado LC250 and named it Landcruiser. Priced it the same as would be priced LC300. Makes no sense.

This is short term, opportunistic pricing by greedy dealers taking advantage of people without patience (or so much money that it doesn't matter). In 6 months time, no dealers will be asking more than sticker for these.

V35a although you can also get diesel slightly used jdm
That makes the price difference very big. If both had V35A, I am certain the difference would be far smaller. Now that the LC250 and L300 are the same size, there is no way the Prado will get any bigger engines.

I really don’t understand how the both Landcruisers make sense. Other than engine which is a marketing decision, there is no technical difference. If the LC 300 is too expensive for US market, couldn’t they just give it the turbo 4 cylinder? Status does not count anymore. BMW X5, Mercedes SL also come with 4 cylinders now, cheap cars have 3 cylinders now. Maserati and Bentley sell with 6 cylinders.

And unfortunately we will never be able to compare the hybrid turbo with the I4 diesel or V6 diesel, because countries with the diesel won’t get the hybrid.

While Takahashi-san is keen to enter the market, he also acknowledged that Gazoo Racing has limited capacity to develop new products.

“The GR company only has limited resources, so we need to prioritise,” he said.
This is quite sad. GR has been incredibly successful. Why wouldn't they get more development dollars?

The successor of the 3S-GTE (2.0T, 400+PS, 500+N.m) is more or less confirmed to happen. It doesn't make sense to only use that engine for the Celica. If they are aiming for volume and thus profitability the natural choice is a GR RAV4.

A GR version of the LC250 with 3.4T iForce Max could happen given that they still have a lot of room in GVM.

My prediction of the most likely GR cars to be release in the next few years:
Starlet (1.4T 180PS FWD)
MR2 (1.6T 320PS RWD)
Celica (2.0T 400PS AWD)
Supra Mk.VI (3.0T 420PS RWD)
Hilux (3.3T diesel 320PS 4WD)
Prado (3.4T hybrid 470PS 4WD)
RAV4 (2.0T 400PS AWD)

This is quite sad. GR has been incredibly successful. Why wouldn't they get more development dollars?
Because they wasted quite a bit of budget on cancelled programs. The Hypersport was cancelled after the prototype was destroyed in a fire. The mid-engine GR Yaris was delayed by supply chain issues and rebooted as a limited production MR2. The MR kei-car collaboration with Suzuki and Daihatsu didn't materialize and will likely be restarted as the S-FR program. The Supra BEV was a distraction that probably gets pushed back until solid state batteries are ready and rebranded as FT-Se. Not to mention the Lexus F side got zero product in the past 5 years. GS-F, cancelled. LC-F, cancelled. LS-F, cancelled. LF-1, cancelled. LFR, delayed. Some cancellations are deserved and some are not.

A lot of these probably wouldn't have happened if they didn't cave in to shareholder pressure and wasted a bunch of effort on impractically ambitious BEV projects. Especially the Lexus side that still hasn't publicly abandoned their 100% BEV plan.

Wow, is it confirmed?

On latest news releases they now say "if market conditions allows"... So it changed a bit from that 100% on 2030 for Europe stance.

There were many other at the fair, but always the same thing more or less. Good to see the Landcruiser continues to be the reference in defense. I saw the LC300 first time. I like it visually. Interior is great.

That long wheelbase 79 with custom back looks fantastic. I wish Toyota offered a LWB 4 door wagon from the factory. The green color on the 76 series is really great. I’d love to see some sort of green on the 250.
