If this happens before a new IS-F, I'm leaving the brand for Mercedes-AMG.
Mercedes-AMG currently offers over 15 models, a nice mixture of sedans, coupes, roadsters, SUVs and wagons. Lexus F offers 1, a fatty coupe. There are simply more important vehicles Lexus F needs to build if they want the general public to take them seriously in the performance realm. Would I like to see a LX-F one day? Sure, but before that we need a CLA45 (CT-F), C63 (IS-F/RC-F), E63 (GS-F + coupe), S63/65 (LS-F/SC-F) and AMG GT/911 (LFA 2.0) fighter. That's the world I want to live in!LOL......but keep in mind that Mercedes has already done an AMG version of their big SUV.....the G-Wagon. Lexus, with the LX-F, would only be following in their footsteps.
That would be a treat for us Lexus enthusiasts, but it ain't going to happen buddy. The RC F needs to go on a diet, no IS F in the works and the GS F is somewhat a disappointment.Mercedes-AMG currently offers over 15 models, a nice mixture of sedans, coupes, roadsters, SUVs and wagons. I couldn't agree more! RC-F minus 400 lbs. GS-F plus 100 hp. The "OG" F started as a skunk works project, it would be amazing to see the F guys make one anyways to continue that story. That would be a treat for us Lexus enthusiasts, but it ain't going to happen buddy. I've always admired the guys in Affalterbach. It was exciting to see Lexus match, and arguably exceed, that level of dedication to performance with the LFA. The "Handbuilt by Lexus LFA Works" is the closest we will get. I think the individual name plate on the engine would be too "un-Japanese" for the lack of a better term.Mercedes also has invested a lot more in their AMG division than Lexus has with the Fs (a fact ACEtheOG noted by pointing out the 15 different AMG products). Note, for example, that, unlike Lexus, Mercedes AMG engines are all hand-built, with a specific AMG Technician personally signing off on each one. That's rare among mass-produced (or at least non-exotic) vehicles.......though we did see hand-built, Tech-signed engines on Ford Mustang Cobras some years ago.
