2019 Lexus LC 500 Is the Soft Personal Luxury Coupe Perfected
HIGHS: Gorgeous inside and out, delightfully polished experience, sweet V-8.

LOWS: Tedious infotainment controller, useless rear seats, better-riding tires sacrifice performance.

We're willing to trade outright track performance for added comfort in the LC, though we wish the drop-off in grip weren't so drastic. But few if any LC500 owners will take their coupes to the racetrack for a day of hot lapping. (We did, at our 2017 Lightning Lap track test, and the activity clearly didn't suit the Lexus.) When it comes to the LC, simply sit back, relax, and enjoy this modern-day personal luxury coupe.

Forty years ago, this smooth operator probably would have had opera windows and a vinyl roof, maybe an eight-track player. Today, it's an edgy knockout, a concept car that somehow escaped the auto-show stand and went directly on sale to the public. Its eye-catching looks haven't softened in the two years since it debuted, but we can confirm that, for 2019, it is a little squishier. That's just how it should be, and it's great news for the upcoming convertible model.

A must watch and elaborate review by someone with a rather imaginative vocabulary.

I must confess a week or so ago before picking up this fine automobile, I have not yet considered the full pornographic potential of the mighty strut tower, but, I ask you....is this not a thing of beauty? The Ron Jeremy of strut towers. The Rembrandt of strut towers. Carved by hand, by takumi ninjas from unobtanium alloy.

Also not done by any other reviewer before, in a nice automotive treat, he breaks down the efficiency of the LC's V8 and how it rates better than other v8's on the market.

This is the first time I've seen someone analyzing BMEP this way, and I won't be surprised if there is a real engineering term for people in the industry because it indeed represents the efficiency of the engine. 10kW/L/1000rpm is as much as one can get without using supercar engine components. The 2UR-GSE is one of the most efficient NA V8 engines ever built and its performance is only held back by its restricted low redline (for reliability's sake).

The Lexus LC 500 Is Rolling Art That Drives Like It, Too
The LC 500 is a machine that radiates beauty, from the sublime creases of its bodywork to the quality and craftsmanship of its cockpit to the abiding finesse of the driving experience. Take it on a highway cruise and it will whisper along while you soak up the aural splendor of its high-end surround-sound audio system and relax in the convenience of dynamic radar cruise-control and lane-keep assist. Give it the spurs and it will kick up with an electrifying growl as it pins you back in a sophisticated surge of brawn. Or just park it in your driveway. And wait for the neighbors to ask, "Where'd you buy that gorgeous work of modern art?"

I once averaged going between 70-80 MPH an absurd 32mpg. I have pics if anyone needs to see it. RS-R USA was a passenger. We were both just shocked. This was a trip from Atlanta to Barber Race Track.

Even around town, 28 MPG is easy in the LC. It is astounding. Now city driving, lol, good luck getting 15 MPG.

I have averaged 25 - 26 mpg cruising on the highway in my RCF. However, city driving really brings it down to 18 - 19 mpg if I keep a light foot. I always keep it in sport+ and manual mode. TVD in slalom. Never use eco or normal modes. Not even sport mode. I never bought the car for fuel economy. That is what my RX400h and Corolla XRS are for.
