Welp. RIP Lexus. After 28 loyal years, it's time to move on. Looks like my GX550 (ya know my fancy Land Cruiser Prado since Lexus couldn't have their own model) will be my last.
Akio Toyoda's presence just PISSES me off, and he absolutely ruined this brand. This reveal just confirms the downfall and demise of Lexus. Shameful.

This guy just spent 20 minutes telling us about getting humiliated and then went on a rant about protecting people and staying around forever and i'm never going to die I AM NEVER GOING TO DIE. The whispering translator telling me about his *humiliation* was nice and creepy. Also I loved her seeming to lose it at the end trying to keep up with his weird motorsport-cuckolding monologue.

The dude has lost it.

Toyota employees look like hostages.

Brutal.

"What'd people love most about the LFA?"
"Probably the sound"
"OK well the new one is electric so make sure mine sounds good"

Then they will like me. I will pay this man to get on stage and say nice things about me. Then they will like me.

I am beyond pissed. I am thinking I just move my loyalties over the VW Group or Mercedes.

You have every right, but in this case I don't blame Lexus/Toyota. It's the usual shite motoring journalist sites selling made-up hopium drivel that gave you the wrong expectations and betrayed your trust just so they could get those sweet clicks for their paychecks. These "journalists" will never be held accountable and they couldn't care less because they know whatever bullshit they peddle, people will just come back anyway because they have an attachment to the brand that they can prey on.

This constant misinformation and twisting of words for the sake of clicks is what drove Carmaker1 off the online communities, because he was often a victim of his words getting twisted by these hacks.

I should be surprised, but I think I have every right to be disappointed. I feel like Porsche knows wtf they are doing, and Audi makes decent SUVs.

I will say this, if the actual power figures of the GR GT is 641 horsepower then they're in a lot of trouble. We were told it'd make really close to four figures, if not four figures. I hope those are the numbers for the GT3 car because no matter how cool it looks, that is not powerful enough if they want to command over a quarter of a million dollars for one.

Interestingly I don't think the press release used the word "hybrid" even once even though that's technically what this is. They really think they're fooling people.

EDIT: Nope spoke too soon, they mentioned it a grand total of two times in the entire thing.

Well, can’t say I’m all that impressed. The Lexus being electric is a let down. It’s a gorgeous car and I was really hoping for a worthy successor to the LFA.

The GR-GT just doesn’t look that great, IMO. I like the long hood, but the front end is just too similar to the Grand Highlander. Hot-V V8 is cool, but ~650hp for a TT V8 hybrid isn’t that impressive. I’m excited to see what other models we may see this engine in though.

Anyway, not much to get that excited about. I’d probably buy a 911, Aston Martin, or used LC500 before I’d buy a GR-GT.

In some sense, debuting a hybrid TTV8 with only about 650 hp would have been clowned if it were a Lexus. Instead, as an alternative, we got the concepts of a plan of an electric reincarnation of the LFA. At least the concept looks gorgeous in my eyes.

Nothing like trying to make the best of a tough and even tougher situation huh
