Why I feel that this interior will belong to the next generation Prado not the 300

The interior has more vibes from Prado / GX / RAV4 & Venza than the 200

Although, you may be true with its heritage name plate, Toyota is still an outlier.

Range, speed, efficiency, technology, and etc. This applies to one and not the other.
It is suppose to be "designed" for a 25 year life service but it seems to me the "new" LC may be outdated already.
Im highly considering buying it if it has a PHEV option, but its off-roading chops means nothing if it cant even come with a solid rear axle. Crawl control is not off roading. It'll help you out in those tiny pickles but other than that 99.99% of owners dont use it.

we agree TMC GA-L platform is not great, not space efficient and heavy. Let us hope new BOF platform does not have the same problem. the new lc has to be lighter even with added tech.

I will be convinced Rivian is a superior truck when a Rivian wins Dakar, drives to North Pole and back, or get destroyed by a drone because even very bad people want a dependable means of transport.

The Land Cruiser 300 won't be obsolete in 2021. It won't be obsolete in 2050, because last time I checked a Land Cruiser from 1983 is still the most popular truck in many places of the world. Even the idea that LC200 is outdated is an opinion shared by less than 10% of the world's population. Not saying the opinion is not valid, just not a very popular one.

TT 3.5 V6 will have better performance than NA 5.7 V8, but still does not feel like an upgrade. TT 3.3 V6 however definitely feels like a downgrade from TT 4.5 V8.

Did he say that the 1GR-FE engine is the 4.6L V8? The GR engine family is a V6 engine and, specifically, the 1GR is the 4L V6 that first showed up on the 4Runner (if I am not mistaken) ages ago without the variable valve timing (VVT-i). I would be surprised if there is no variable valve timing or on-demand Atkinson cycle added to this basic V6 engine.

that rear side window reminds me of FT-4X concept. They need that new F33A-FTV and the V35A-FTD in every other of their BOF models, the Hilux too.

The 1GR is a legacy engine for markets where fuel compatibility, maintenance cost and parts availability is key. Military and mining operators want stability not the newest tech. 1GR could run 90RON (85 AKI) low grade fuel. If it ain't broke don't fix it. BTW 1GR-FE already has dual VVT-i since 2009 in US and since 2014 in developing markets.

The 1GR is the spiritual successor to the legendary F. So it will be in production till at least 2030s.
