First Lexus LC Convertible Auctioned Off for $2,000,000

The first production Lexus LC Convertible was auctioned off this weekend at Barrett-Jackson for $2,000,000 USD. The winning bid was from Kent Stevinson, dealer principal of Stevinson Lexus of Lakewood.

The full proceeds will be split between two charities: the Boys & Girls Clubs of America and the Bob Woodruff Foundation.
The LC Convertible is one-of-a-kind in many ways, starting with a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) ending in 100001. It will be outfitted similar to the announced Inspiration Series edition, with a Structural Blue exterior and white leather interior.

To me this was a smart marketing move... They managed to show this new LC convertible to car enthusiasts who can actually afford it, and show it for those who don't have the money throw publicly giving way 2M USD for charity thanks to a gorgeous car which many might not know the model or Lexus as a brand.

It's crazy how Lexus was able to pull off a coupe and convertible that are both equally beautiful. Usually when you convertible-ify a coupe, something ends up ugly or awkward.

The LC Convertible can become the most powerful Japanese convertible.... and the model will be called LC500, without the prefix "c" - convertible 🤔
