Genuinely nothing looks good in their lineup besides the BRZ. The Ascent, Legacy, and Outback facelifts are horrendous.

Yeah. There were proposals from multiple studios including Subaru Australia, but Toyotas design was chosen for the GR86/BRZ. I'm assuming Subaru designed their front bumper ofc.

All of these design cues, the lowered beltline with angular corners, the boxy fender flares, and most especially the headlight DRL scream Rav4.

It's like they took the defining cues of the Rav4 and changed it up a little, but on a body with significantly worse proportions and Ford Explorer headlight shape.

I guess we'll find out this week, but is this a refresh or all-new? The overall proportions and interior look very similar to the current one, so I'm assuming a heavy refresh?

One of the biggest mysteries in automotive industry. I'm being dead serious. I'm aware Subarus were big with gay community, surfers, chill & adventurous types at one point but I'm not so sure it was them that lead the sales up constantly.
