If you're on the reddit post, Here is an interesting comparison.
Head to head: Lexus ES 300h F Sport v BMW 330i M Sport
Price: £39,270 / £41,435
0-62mph: 8.9 sec / 5.9 sec
Top speed: 112mph / 155mph
Fuel economy: 53.2 mpg / 43.5 mpg
Exactly. The UX is already going against the X1. It doesn't make sense. Interior space is already bad in the UX. The X1 is much bigger subcompact suv than the UX let alone a Yaris based crossover. I really don't know what the Lexus executives are thinking.
I wouldn't be surprised if the LS did change into an SUV. Apparently, Toyota is thinking about converting the Crown sedan into their Flagship SUV.
Another point you mention with the ES is spot on. The ES keeps growing and keeps adding features that were once reserved for the LS I had an ES...
Yes. I6 and turbocharged. That's how they are getting the torque figures. You're comparing a V6 NA to a force induction I6. If Lexus, Toyota I should say, kept the I6 and shoehorn the 2jz-gte like their Japanese counterpart, then the outcome may have been different.
Lexus let it go stale because of the ES and the consumer wants SUV. The ES and GS both competes in the same market regardless of however Lexus is categorizing the two vehicles. The journalist will compare both to the E class, 5 series, A6, etc. Even the 4th gen GS back in its development was...
I'm not disagreeing with you. I also have my screen in the GS off or on the music because I can't stand it. But from a consumer point of view, they want the eye candy to show off. I look at all my data offline and on a PC.
Hyundai's Genesis brand is doing the same campaign. They will not make an FWD vehicle for their Luxury brand. It truly feels like Lexus will become an upscale Toyota Camry.
Sorry, I'm not on here much. But yes, I agree that Audi has an amazing screen. Same with MB and BMW. It's just the amount of information is mind-blowing, in a good way. I use to be an LTS for Lexus and I had this client who is an engineer at a big organization. He would always come to me asking...
I disagree. Lexus has always been behind the curve. They may be the first to launch a redesign but by the time their competitor launches their redesign, even a few months down the road, Lexus is still miles behind, in terms of tech. I work for a multi-brand dealership. I see the MB, Jag/LR...
As a former Scion owner, they went downhill since they redesign their core models to be more Americanized. Bigger, bigger, bigger. The original xA and xB were selling like hotcakes because of its unique looks and the tC sold in masses because a lot of automotive journalists compared the tC to...
More than likely, they will need to pull the engine and reseal the timing cover. I think early GR series engines had this issue. My 2006 GS300 had this work done at close to 100,000 miles.
I have this in my GS. Great unit, fit and finish is ok. I have it for a year now and it works wonderfully. A tad slow but I heard the PX6 unit just came out and is a bit more responsive. You can add carplay or AA. You just need a carplay/AA dongle. Carplay works find but AA will crash constantly.
I completely agree. I think it was over a decade ago when Lexus introduce the L-Finesse design and I remember that Lexus said they would differentiate Lexus from Toyota, from their design language to how Lexus performs. Well, Lexus did that for a while and now they are back to where they...
Lexus, at least in the US, has a way of updated older models via a software update. There are forums on the internet, that has the downloadable files. I won't name any sites but you can grab them, follow the tsb and volia, apple carplay on 2018-Pre-Oct'19 models. I hope they do the same for...
