To me the LX-F idea makes so much sense - if they're already building the twin-turbo V8 for the Century and have the platforms sorted, just drop it in the LX and GX and print money like Mercedes does with the G63.

Well THAT's not necessarily true.

The M2 was the best selling full-M car and X3M/X4M were both discontinued. I'm fairly certain the M3/M4 outsell the X5M/X6M as well, and the XM has been a total flop

There is no TTV8 Century, that's made-up bullshit from the same Australian outlet that claimed the "new LFA" would also have a V8 - it also makes no sense since all upcoming Century projects are seemingly still sitting on the same FWD platform as the SUV. And Toyota/Lexus have already went on record to confirm that the TTV8 in the GR GT is a one-off and will never be used in any other vehicle in the brand.

What you will see from Lexus has already been laid out in full whether we like it or not - a full pivot into EV. Luxury Space (LS) EV concepts. LFA EV concept. ES EV where the EV trims take precedent over the hybrid. Much of this is because the brand wants to further pivot to the Chinese market away from US tastes. Unless Lexus gets new management or people in charge this will be their future.

He already has one and he's not sharing...

He absolutely is sharing.

There are AT LEAST 8-12 of those in existence.

I am *telling* you. He built them for himself and his buddies. He had to get board approval.

He alone has a black and a white pair.

Yes that's my point - Akio is not going to suddenly invest a ton of money into Century and have a car available to the public that is going to rival what he and his little yacht club have. We are all, at best, going to get more of the Century SUV in different body styles once Century does make it to Lexus showrooms like he wants.

His car or any equivalent will never, ever be available for the buying public.

??? The new Century Coupe is on a new platform. Probably the same as the LS Coupe. It has height control which GA-K doesn't have. Screenshot 2026-01-23 025840.png

His message to his team for the new Century Coupe was "Build a Century *I* would want to drive", so they can bring it to market.

The GR GT is DOA at $200k, but they can actually sell a $200k LX-F. They already did that when the LX600 first launched. Dealerships charged huge markups and people actually paid close to $200k for the LX600. The G63 is $210k+ but usually with markups. The RR SV also starts at $210k. A LX-F at $200k would still be a steal.

Among Lexus’s current lineup, the LX is the model that most deserves the new V8. This gen LX has already delivered strong numbers, clearly prove that the demand is there. The customer base exists, make the LX F starts from 180k I don’t think real buyer have problems with that and Lexus knows it. They could have done much more. Yet instead, they chose to chicken out.

Why? Because Toyota will do everything it can to prevent Lexus from becoming too good. In a way mediocrity is the mission Toyota has assigned to Lexus.

I hope they're working on a new engine to replace the V35A. Maybe a new inline-6? Also with the Land Cruiser GR Sport's defeat in Dakar they might come out with a GR Land Cruiser with the V8 to reclaim their title next year which opens up the possibility for an LX F and GX F.

it's a raised coupe it's not a crossover and idk why you insist it's an EV when they are intending on installing an engine in it
Says who? The concept has no exhaust pipes and is clearly sitting on top of a battery pack.

The Australian outlet claiming this would have a V8 made that up, just like how they made up the "new LFA" having a V8 just to have Lexus officially declare it as an EV a couple months later.

Edit: Nevermind I misremembered, they did confirm it would have an engine - but killed the V8 rumor.
“We have not actually decided which kind of engine will be installed,” said Toyota powertrain president Takashi Uehara.
