Are you suggesting the same, large-capacity battery as the RAV4 PHEV, but never plug it in? That would not work. The RAV4 PHEV's power rating is with a full battery, topped up by plugging it in. Once battery charge is depleted, the normal hybrid system alone is not capable of topping up the battery to full charge, and at that point, the car is pulling around the dead weight of that large-capacity battery.

Yes, I was thinking the same battery and electric motor, without being plugged-in. I'm not super familiar with the inner workings of the RAV4 PHEV, so I wondered how feasible that would be. Thank you for the input.

For a vehicle like the TX, anything below 300 hp is simply unacceptable. The TX400h needs to deliver at least 300 hp and that’s the absolute minimum.
I drove a TX350 loaner a few weeks ago while my GX was in for service, and honestly, that car felt very noisy and underpowered. I’m not someone who’s obsessed with having extreme horsepower, but at the very least, give us a more refined engine!! This kind of compromise might be understandable in an entry level Lexus like the NX, but not on a model like the RX and TX.
This car should come with
TX 400h ~300-310 hp
TX 500h 367 hp
TX 550h+ 404 hp
For God’s sake, please redesign the front end as well, it’s really hard on the eyes.

The new 1.5T 6th gen hybrid is rumored to make 250PS on the Harrier.
Lexus has been inflating their model numbers recently: "300h" is only 197PS (66PS/L), "350e" is only 225PS (64PS/L), "550h" is only 331PS (60PS/L), "700h" is only 464PS (66PS/L). These numbers are similar to equivalent engines in 1990. A 250PS "400h" is very in character with their current trends.

Well, my budget didn't allow for a 550h+, but I made the mistake of taking my wife car shopping with me and she fell in love with a 550h+ that was new on the dealer lot, and unclaimed, so we bought it. Its a great car, and the 2026 does have the panoramic roof missing from earlier models. Overnight plug in with a regular wall socket gives me the full 33 EV only range overnight, and the V6 is nice. To my feel, the car accelerates and handles with as much power as my LX 570. I drove a new LX 600 for comparison, and I would say that the the LX 600 has a more floating ride, but I didn't notice any difference in acceleration. I also like the first and second row seats in the 550h+ (same as luxury 500h) better than the LX, especially the second row captains chairs in the TX. I also felt that LX 600 had a ridiculously small amount of space behind the third row, even less than the LX 570. I think the TX with Direct 4 has a smaller turning radius than the LX, despite being a longer vehicle. I rented a TX 350 earlier and felt it had more than enough power for almost every use case, but I didn't like the sound of the "stop start" implementation on the engine, that is missing from the TX hybrids. I also saw a 550h+ that appeared to be on the lot of another dealer in my region, so perhaps they are becoming a little more accessible to the casual buyer.
