A large swath of Lexus vehicles in the USA have lost functionality due to the phasing out of the 3G cell network. The Lexus Enform service offered with 2010-2017 Lexus models (plus the 2018 GX) will no longer work, and that means no more remote lock/unlock, remote start, and stolen vehicle tracking.
According to a Lexus support page, the Enform service was terminated as of October 31, 2022, at 11:59PM CST. There are larger forces at work here, and there’s hardly anything Lexus can do outside of offering a retrofit to a more modern data network — from the support page:
Telecommunications providers are discontinuing 3G services in favor of newer and more advanced LTE networks. Although these circumstances were created by factors beyond our control, we sincerely regret any inconvenience this may cause.
