Lexus October 2014 Sales Report

USA

Lexus USA has reported 23,355 total sales for October 2014, a 2.8% improvement over last year — here’s the model-by-model breakdown:

Total Sales 23,355 22,719 2.8 244,038 213,479 14.3

Please note, all percentages are calculated by the Daily Sales Rate (DSR), which takes into account the number of days in the month that dealerships could sell cars. October 2014 had 27 selling days, October 2013 had 27 selling days.

October marks the 13th consecutive month of sales gains, making it a full year of increases.

The overall lineup performed well — in particular, it appears the CT & GS have managed to sort out their sales issues from last year and have strung together some strong increases over the past few months.

(As for the yearly luxury car sales crown, Lexus has fallen out of contention with both BMW & Mercedes having very strong October sales.)

October

Lexus Canada set a new October sales record with 1,764 sales. As per usual, the RX led the way with 812 sales, followed by the IS with 360 sales and the ES with 222.

I have a strong feeling the NX will be neck and neck with the ES in sales but it might steal some RX sales as well.

Proof positive the spindle grille is far more liked than disliked: 20% sales increase YTD for the CT in 2014 vs the identical 2013 (sans-spindle) CT.

Not exactly as Lexus sales are still well below their peak level, even though the overall market and brands such as BMW, Audi & Mercedes have all achieved new record sales numbers.

The RC and the NX is just the beginning. By e time late 2016 and 2017 comes. Lexus will [hopefully] have 2 or 3 new models or redesigns in their line up. Hopefully the next gen LS/LS-F, and the LC/SC, a new cuv model to compete with the X1 and gla. And there's the hope of a brand new RX,GX,&LX into play. The future is looking bright for lexus
