Imagining the Lexus RX F-Sport

TLE reader Shamiz has just sent me some cellphone quick pics from an as-of-yet unidentified Japanese magazine that shows this rendering of the rumored Lexus RX F-Sport (click for a larger version):

While I don’t think Ultrasonic Blue and the RX mix well together, I do like the application of the GS’ new spindle grille, especially with the blacked-out bumper — I would certainly expect a more exciting set of wheels, though.

The image also opens up another train-of-thought, outside of the F-Sport package — it stands to reason that the RX will be adopting the spindle grille when the crossover receives its mid-cycle update, and ignoring the mesh grille, the result could look very similar.

This is clearly a photoshop job. Two things give it away: the far left foglight has not been modified to match the aggressive one on the left, and the lower intake on the far right does not meet the blacked out grill divider.

     Actually its not a fake.  i went to a lexus journey event today and it is in fact real.  this car will also have a custom white stitched interior with new steering wheel/shift knob, redesigned center console, and an 8-speed transmission

if an RX-F sport or better yet RX F came out, i'd buy it in a heart beat.  Bring it lexus.

    I agree.I'd buy it in a heart beat also.I wasn't sold on this color with the CT f-sport,but that's only because I like it in white so much.I have to say though that ultrasonic blue looks much better on the RX than the simular shade of blue I seen on an BMW X5M.(looked too plasticy & cheap)How about G-Spyder or F-Sport wheels?

    Yeah Lexus blue like on the ISF is so nice.. BMW version of blue looks cheap I agree

I don't know how close this is to reality,but the RX's facelift next year will give it the new spindle grille and there will be an f-sport model.

Lexus needs to have a really bright color available in every vehicle to appeal to the younger crowd.  So tired of choosing between grey, white, black, beige, faded blue etc.  Should always have a bright blue and a bright red choice i.e. not the maroonish color that they have now.  It is a serious flaw.  I like the blue above and it would make every vehicle bright and more fun to drive.  Should always be offered as an option.

    I agree on this one. They should bring out bright colors. Lexus wants to sell their cars on "younger crowd"  but the colors are for older people!

    I agree completely. Lexus should definitely have one or two bold,bright colours for each model. Ultrasonic Blue and Solar Yellow being favourites of mine.

I just got back from a Lexus training event and have a lot of new insider news stuff to share. The spindle grill is the new face of Lexus all across the board. The 2012 Lx570 will even have it and is due out in February (looked really strange though as only the front end was changed as far as I could tell). Fsport Rx is confirmed and looked really sporty. The new Es concept photos were absolutely sick!!!! Looked like an A7 or CLS from the side and an Aston-Jag front. Very very sporty!!!
