2012 Lexus GS Spotted?

New spy shots have emerged on Facebook that just may be a camouflaged version of the 2012 Lexus GS — let’s take a look:

2012 Lexus GS Spotted

As comparison, the LF-Gh:

Lexus LF-Gh Concept

The camouflage does an excellent job of covering up anything that has yet to be revealed, like the front & rear — even the rear windows have been disguised — but these very well may be the first real photos of the 2012 GS.

Yes , it is the next Lexus GS ... I'm not 100% sure but 95% confirm if compare with LF-Gh concept . The rear end looks like have the taillights from ES while front looks like would have CT-ish headlights .

Yup... ES tail lights. The next ES is supposed to be this fall isnt it? Couldn't this be the new ES?
    Y
Since ES always being a Lexus Camry , the front end won't be that long ... I meant normally a V6 FF car won't have as long front end as a V6/V8 FR car .

I wouldn't read too much into the tail lights -- I did a more thorough comparison today and I'm convinced it's the new GS:  http://lexusenthusiast.com/2011/06/27/another-look-at-the-2012-lexus-gs-spy-shots/

After reading your comparison ... Im convinced too!!!  I hope they make that front end beautiful!

I´m really looking forward to the new GS. Especially the long rumoured GS-F.Lexus has said that the new GS series will be "all hybrid". Now I´ve heard rumours that Toyota is developing a manual gearbox for hybrid cars that will be used in a rwd coupé version of the next generation Prius due in 2014. Might this gearbox be headed for a GS-F hybrid? Who knows?

I wouldn't be surprised if the next-gen GS is offered as a hybrid-only in Europe, but I would be surprised if that's the case in North America. As for the manual gearbox -- I haven't heard that rumor. Do you have a link? Thanks!

I have heard from a reliable source the new GS will look almost exactly like the concept LF-Gh.

i hope that the next gs will look a lot like the lf-gh concept, at least the front, i dont want it to look like the ct200h...
L
I too have heard that the production car will be very close to the concept.

This is RWD and definitely the GS. Here's another GS-F rendering.

I like that rendering! Very nice!

The way those three LED bulbs in each headlamp cluster is positioned so much like the LSh's... <3! I wouldn't mind the L-insignia being a little larger and lower with half it on the grille splitter!
M
It looks like the LF-Gh. Lexus really needs to take the right path for the production model, in terms of design and engineering. The next GS better be good. I think the front and rear of the concept is really amazing but the profile is a bit plain. Just an extra bit of contour would be good.

I hope Lexus could bring back the 4-headlight-set in the front ...

That could work with the design without being just a large CTh! We can't let the E-class keep its 4-headlight signature for itself!

It will have nothing to do with the concept. I guess it will be based on the current car with some of the concept styling and a bit of modifications to the architecture. As for styling i bet you that it will look like the 200h.
    Y
Well ... on the spyshot car , it already have some line that appear on the concept car , so it would have the main design from the concept car for sure , lights might have huge change as the CT200h & LF-Ch's example .

I have driven the ct200h and seen how people buy them like hot cakes. Trust me when i go to the dealer with a friend, the first car he will notice is the ct200h and he will say wow what a nice car. The ct200h styling is the best in the industry. I feel lexus is following the good old formula that audi and bmw once embraced. The formula goes like this " keep it simple stupid " and basically this is what sells.
    Y
CT200h's design clue is fully converted from it's concept , the Lexus LF-Ch ... ... so from the experience on the LF-Ch , you would know next GS will be like CTh , converted looks from it's concept , which is the Lexus LF-Gh .

The CT's styling may play a role in the final production version of the 4th gen GS, but I wouldn't discount the influence that the LF-Gh concept will have -- judging from these spy shots, I'd say the side profile is identical to the LF-Gh.
М
i know it is the GS as i know the LF-Gh is just 100% GS and that's why they hide the interior but it is not after time that much grew inside me
Y
The rim is production car's rim or ? I meant does it appear on any other Lexus apart from it looks like the one from Lexus LF-Gh ? I was thought it's a rim from Lexus IS-F but IS-F is multiple single-spoke instead of this is much like 5x v-spoke .

The GS looks nice and dandy and a far cry from the conservative designs we see on BMWs. I swear my cosine bought a brand new 5 series and within 6 days he got an oil leak? The breaks make a very strange sound? strange sounds coming from the wind shield when driving fast on the highway? Id buy a lexus even if it looked terminally ugly.

Someone noticed the third stop break  is in the bottom from rear glass and the LF-GH concept is in the top like lexus LS,just im saying. ;)

Good eye! Looks like it won't be like that /: It creates a nice spoiler effect although the LS was more integrated than the LF-Gh's.

Honestly what the hell is wrong with the current GS? I think it looks very elegant and yet it still looks a bit sporty.. Kind of like a young businessmens car.. The competition has newer current models (5 series, E-class) but the GS IMO looks much sharper then both despite being much much older.. Is there a logical reason on why Lexus is very weak in this segment? They get outsold by even cars which are sub-premium..

It's the interior. It looks cheap and ugly compared to the german rivals.

How?? The GS has more leather and much better fit and finish then the Germans.. More wood.. Less plastic, the Germans have much more hard plastic, compared to soft touch from Lexus GS.. And the GS has the LED wonder, where every square inch of the interior is illuminated by blue LED..

The LED interior light (and the light it gives off) is one of my favorite things about the GS -- it gives off such a great feeling driving late at night.

What a ridiculous thing to say -- the current GS may have its faults, but interior quality & design is hardly one of them.

Problems with the current GS, as I see it: * Interior space, especially in the rear seats * Trunk size * Drivetrain options (not enough engine choice) * Driving dynamics I wouldn't be surprised if this new generation fixed every single one of these issues.

I think in this segment (E-class, GS, 5 series) buyers are more into the sporty aspects of cars and hence why the GS is a sales flop..

i own a GS 350 and still think that it looks great.  i was thinking about buying a BMW, but honestly i think I'll stay with the Lexus.  Dont know why they're changing the GS, it rides smooth and is very comfortable when riding.
