Strangely enough, in a month with more negatives than positives, the bright spots are at the very top of the model lineup — the LS, LX & GX all saw decent sales improvements over last year.
From the looks of things, Lexus is going to be in tough for the next couple months while they prepare for the launch of the CT 200h, which is sure to bring a boost to the bottom line.
As for how the US luxury sales battle is going — even with the down month, Lexus managed to cement its lead over BMW & Mercedes:
- Lexus: 201,769
- BMW: 196,833
- Mercedes (minus Sprinter sales): 196,288
With a 4,936 unit lead over second-place BMW, Lexus looks poised to retain its top billing as the #1 luxury car manufacturer in the USA.
Canada: Lexus Canada moved 1,053 vehicles in November, which is down 18.0% from the previous year — however, there were some highlights:
- IS series entry luxury sport sedan sales up 20.3%
- HS 250h dedicated hybrid luxury sedan sales up 18.5%
- LS 460 flagship luxury sedan sales up 6.3%
