The fifth annual Motorist Choice Awards have been announced, and Lexus has making a serious showing in the winner’s circle, taking 5 of the 15 premium categories.
Now, these aren’t your typical segment awards, instead, winners are chosen by a group of 42,000 consumers, who rate the vehicles based on “lifestyle categories” — here are the Lexus results:
- Eco-Friendly: Lexus RX Hybrid
- High Tech: Lexus RX Hybrid
- Youthful: Lexus IS
- City Car: Lexus LS
- Value Car: Lexus RX Hybrid
Regardless of the funny category names, the RX 450h put on a dominant performance, underlining just how well-regarded Lexus’ bestseller is.
However, I had to laugh at the Lexus LS being named the #1 City Car — ultimate comfort, yes, but from my own experience of driving and parking a LS 460L in the city, I have to wonder at what the award criteria was. Pothole absorption, maybe?
