Imagining the 2013 Lexus GS 450h F-Sport

One of the questions raised by the 2013 Lexus GS teaser photo released last week was whether the bumper separating the upper and lower grilles would be blacked-out or the same color as the body — here’s a photochop from Auto Bild that takes a look at one of the two options:

Judging from the mesh grille, I would assume this is meant to be the F Sport version of the GS Hybrid sedan — I’m impressed enough by the end result that I expect even if this look isn’t offered directly from Lexus, some enterprising owners will likely recreate it themselves.

I like it, now if it was shorter, and Coupe like they were saying in 2013(Option). I may have to do that. Though it'd have to be faster than my current IS 350. =)

I have to say that the photoshop looks great and hopefully the real GS will look that good.  We'll know next week.

I LOVE the tweaks at the bottom of the bumper/ grille. When the 2011 IS was revamped with some small tweaks with the lower front bumper i thought it was brilliant!! However is still wish they carried over the dual headlight set-up from the last gen. GS somehow.

And tail lights. I was sad when they did'nt carry that over on the 2nd gen IS too.

This looks again superbe, the production model however will look very boring like any other ToLex from the 21ste century. I miss the good old 80's Toyota :(

I'd love to see the grill divide in carbon fiber look.

Interesting idea, but then we'd also have to sprinkle some more carbon fiber elsewhere -- front lip, maybe? ;-)

The headlights are PRETTY! BUT... I still feel that the shapes are a bit... generic!

Can't wait till this car to come out.  It will be fastest sports sedan in history with its embedded LFA tech.  It will beat the F10 M5 Nurburing time by 20 sec easily at half the price!!!!

The stupid tall grille makes the front of the car look narrow. The grille should be streched horizontal like previous Lexus' used to have. Big design mistake!

That's the only thing I don't like about this rendering, the front end looks tiny.

Only the $375,000 Lexus LFA is the Lexus that can smoke a Nissan GTR in a drag race (ofcourse, with R compound super-slick racing tires).

LOVE IT-----I can only wish and hope that the F-H Sport will look ths great-----Keep it Lexus !  The low beefy stance is awesome!

I've to said ... this rendering is 95% same as real car , from what I see .

Yes,I think it's very close too. In the "illuminated" teaser shot one can see that the chrome list on the upper grille extends a bit farther down than in this image where it looks like the one on the CT.

The lower part of the front bumper is a bit different, but I agree -- it definitely resembles what we've seen from that GS teaser image.

IMHO the best looking sports sedan in the market.  Since Audi loves to rip off from Lexus most likely the next Audi A6 is basically going to look like this.

I just hope that they do offer a hybrid f sport version...not an f sport version for the gas model...

It's so good looking. I love the black bumper/grille accent. Better than the Teutonic Brothers. I hope Lexus sees this page.

What's amazing about Lexus is that they're high-class thinkers, example the LS460 lights are inspired by a crystal champagne glass and are made from crystalline.. I just want to say that the most beautiful car and i mean most beautiful is the current LS460, 600H.. If you look at it the car is very harmoniousness designed, the rear has a very unique and strong presence, the side is very uplifting and the front fascia is handsome and spirited.. There is so much more i think of the LS design that i just cannot write about.. Next time you see an LS460 on the road, just look at it and you will understand.. It may not be as flashy as a BUGATTI, but the Japanese are capable of making beautiful cars without the need of being flashy, which ages terribly.. The LS460 is like wine, at will uphold its freshness as it ages..

Your remarks are right on----that is why so many cars fade out so fast and Lexus keeps it's looks through out the Model generation so well. I see so many LS 400's that look so good at 20 years old.

Yeah, that's also how I feel about the SC -- Lexus makes vehicles that looks better as they get older.

Much nicer than the spy photo shot from China!  The white model looked anemic.  I think that the blacked out bumper needs to be retained in order for the look of the grill to flow in the design.
