I wonder who is truly behind these attacks, a rivaling car manufacturer that thinks their own failure is due to Toyota's success? šŸ˜‚

Targeted attack is not to be dismissed. Now if it is political or business, hard to know.

I don't know that it's necessarily targeted. Cyberattacks have been a big business for around 10 years now, and it's not uncommon for companies not to completely clean up their systems after an attack, leaving things open that the attackers found out about from the previous attack.

haha WUT?

Cant it be simple as well in the pursuit of cost reduction, corps tend to request the bare minimum in terms of security because safeguarding 0 and 1s wont produce the millions of door skin request by xyz mfg.

The only time folks decide well, we should invest in security is once something destabilizes their operations. Takes along time to restore safeguards, after hopefully cleaning up the residuals of the incursion.

The latest attach occurred last week to Denso in Germany, a ransomware attack by a group calling itself Pandora.

A group of cybercriminals that calls itself Pandora posted a statement online on March 13 claiming responsibility for the attack.

The statement was published on the dark web, which is hidden from public view and requires the use of specific software to be accessed.

Pandora is threatening to publicly disclose internal company information on March 16. It claims to have 1.4 terabytes of data, consisting of more than 157,000 pieces of information, including purchase orders and technical drawings.

Denso said the company is in the middle of its investigation into what kind of information was stolen.
