When outgoing Lexus International executive vice president Mark Templin was interviewed by both Lexus Enthusiast ( https://lexusenthusiast.com/2016/01...ark-templin-a-discussion-on-the-lc-500-coupe/ ) and WardsAuto ( http://wardsauto.com/industry/lexus-sees-another-record-year-explores-new-markets ) on the sidelines of the 2016 Detroit Auto Show, he informed us that Lexus would be entering 4 new markets within the next 2 to 3 years.

The first of these is Turkey, as announced in the official Lexus Europe newsroom this past Friday ( http://newsroom.toyota.eu/newsrelea...easer=lexus-opens-first-retailer-turkey&mid=1 ).

My latest piece for Kaizen Factor ( http://kaizen-factor.com/markets-will-lexus-enter-next/ ) addresses the other 3 possibilities as well, from the obvious India to the on-again off-again Mexico to a fourth wild-card wild-guess...

What did you mean by outgoing?
Mark Templin will no longer be the executive vice president of Lexus International as of 18 April of this year. He returns to the U.S. to assume a new position as deputy chief officer of Toyota Financial Services' Sales Financial Business Group. Yoshihiro Sawa, currently executive general manager of the Toyota Design Group maintains those duties while also becoming the new executive VP of Lexus Int'l.

Toyota and Lexus undergo these major organizational reshuffles most every year right around this late March/early April time frame (corresponding with the beginning of the new Toyota fiscal year). Here's a link to the news release explaining the latest one:

What does this one mean for Mr. Templin? Was he yearning for a return to the States? Pessimists might take it as a demotion and wonder if he's being eased out of the company. Optimists will see this as a move broadening Mr. Templin's repertoire and experience and see it as a springboard to an eventual higher position within the company. I'll side with the optimists, at least for now...

Well I must be living under a rock because this the first I heard of it. Thanks for filling me in.
Like you I choose to believe this will be good for him. I would not have wanted his travel schedule and would be glad to be coming back to the states.
