how can you tell? the only mention was it was the 500s best June?

IIRC it's selling in the low to mid 3 digits a month. The fact that a model like this is selling within the hundreds a month is pretty good. Note that IS500 will be in production for another ~2 years. This will be great for the used market as there will be lots of these around. :)

It also shows that ppl are still willing to shell out their money if they make decent enough products (in this case the car is kind of old but at least the engine and the price is decent enough to make up for the flaws). I just don't wanna hear them making bad excuses again like they did to the GS "oh sedans are dying we ain't gonna bother making em anymore." No one is gonna take them seriously if they don't show enough consistencies.

Holy hell the IS500 is selling really well.
I presume thats why price package was such a critical focus for the IS500 with being an entry level 2UR option in that 340i segment and it paid off for Lexus so to speak. These numbers are good for Lexus so cant take that away but I think just like the buzz thats happening with the new GX being so well received it's time for new F cars and a new LS ( patience indeed).

It's astonishing that still the best-selling non-suv Lexus products in Q3 continue to be the ES & IS platforms still as staples to the brand. Everything else sale wise is very niche status compared to their volume sans SUVs.

Always amazing to see the RX sell more than the entire Lexus car division thats just insane volume just shows you how relevant the RX is in the US it's literally the sales king. It shows you why Lexus is very careful with the RX more than any other car they have when it comes to changes.

The Lexus SUV segment is heating up they have all the buzz of the brand now with that GX thats doing serious rounds of PR on the internet. Good on you Lexus for Q3.

For years the RX and ES were the de facto Lexus models, and there is no doubt they're still critically important, but when you look at:
  • NX
  • RX
  • TX
  • GX
  • IS
  • ES
...Lexus is in the best shape they've ever been in. This is their "new core" with new IS and ES around the corner.

No denying their production expansion with a focus on SUVs was the right call for sales. With the TX and GX coming fast 2024 could be their best sales year ever.

With the current gasoline prices and interest rate regime (costly financing and leasing), it makes sense that many more households will flock to reliable makes like Lexus, especially when it's offering so many electrified hybrids.

Unless I was looking for a performance vehicle, I would not even consider ICEV, I'd shop for a Lexus HEV at the minimum. Probably the most reliable hybrids around.

I could have sworn it was going to last until early 2025?
Hopefully Lexus continues to produce the IS 500 until 2025. I haven't heard of an IS 500 special edition for 2024 other than Vector Blue replacing Grecian Water. So maybe 2025 will have a special edition IS 500 to end the IS with a V8...

My assumption is that the next generation 8ES, MY 2025 (previous generation 7ES, MY 2019 - 2024) would arrive before the next generation 4IS arrives.
