Not sure how I feel about the mini Cruiser. Looks too much like a Bronco Sport. I have a hard time believing this is going to be BOF. My guess is it’ll be GA-C with a 2.0 hybrid standard.

The mini cruiser looks a lot like some of the Stout renders floating around. I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up having a lot in common.

land hopper is a cute name lol but not sure how it would stick?

Think about it
you have the land .... cruiser sounds majestic right?
then the land hopper for that...lol cute.

Maybe they thought calling this Land Cruiser ( mini ) or Land Cruiser ''sport'' or something along those lines would dilute the brand name.
Every single vehicle that has the LC name so far is extremely capable and durable and can be driven in the harshest terrain.
I doubt this would be able to handle anything close to that.
It sure as hell would have sold like crazy though with a Land Cruiser badge, for people who want to feel special and think they own a legend.

For a cute ute "Land Hopper" is a great name. There's still an implied connection to the Land Cruiser without writing checks the vehicle's capability can't cash, and it opens up other potential "Land *er" names for additional variants if they want to go the Crown route and have a full lineup.

There was (is again) the Urban Cruiser, beside the FJ Cruiser. “Cruiser” too could have been a brand name. “Trail Cruiser”?

IMO, playing with "Cruiser" yields better options than "Land."

Land Hopper sounds super cheesy. What happened with the whole Compact Cruiser name? I didn’t think that sounded too bad.

Those are japanese.
You never know what it may end up being here.

Interesting timing with the g-Class coming out

Land Hopper?

This is part of the IMV platform family - hence its name the iMV 0 concept and should not be in the land cruiser thread.
Regardless of whatever they call it. If the IMV-O concept was part of the Land Cruiser family it would have been displayed at the LC250 global debut but it wasn't.

Do not confuse it with the production version of the EV cruiser concept, the silhouette of which was shown at the the shown at the land cruiser '250' global debut.
this is a different vehicle - they may look the same from far but they are not and it is a different vehicle to the IMV-0 concept.

Again name still not announced this could be the land hopper.
don't forget land scape was also trademarked. Anyway doesn't necessarily mean the name will be used.

The 1.5T sounds interesting. I assume it's a variation of the M15, but it would be interesting to see if it's an all new engine. If it's all new, I kinda hope it's a 4 cylinder instead of a 3.

1.5T in a mini Land Cruiser doesn't sound like much, and it will probably have some negativity. That being said, they could pair it with an electric motor and 250hp with decent low-end torque doesn't sound unreasonable.

A 1.5T in the new GR86 and rumored Celica would be interesting as well. It could very well be an option in the Corolla or even Camry. Honda is putting a 1.5T in the Civic and Accord.

I would rather see the S20 in all these models, but the 1.5T is interesting to think about, nonetheless.

I'd think the GR86 and rumored Celica would get the G16. I'm about 5000 miles into ownership of my GR Corolla. Man, what an engine. *if* it proves to be durable, it might be the best engine Toyota ever built. Come at me 2JZ and UR lovers. haha

I could definitely see the Celica with a G16 as an option. I was mainly thinking the hybrid 1.5 could be used as a base engine. A GR Celica All-Trak with AWD and a G16 would be fantastic. I could definitely see it happening unless Toyota goes all electric with it, like Honda is with the new Prelude.

The GR86 I’m not quite so sure about. I don’t even know what platform Toyota will use if they ditch Subaru.
