TFL released a video from their trip to Cruise Moab. In it they talk to Mike, who is in charge of Toyota R&D North America. They discuss the 70 series a couple times in the video, and I found Mike’s discussion regarding the 70 series intriguing.

The discussion starts around 28:30. First he says, “it doesn’t meet emissions”, then he goes on to say, “never say never” and “there’s ways…my dream is to offer a 70 series”. Mike brings up the 70 series again around 36:30 “There’s always possibilities”. 🤔

I’d be surprised if we see the 70 series in the U.S., but the discussion sure was interesting.

Has anyone heard of issues with the Hilux mild hybrid randomly shutting down, particularly when fording water? I've seen some comments on Facebook about this, but I'm not sure if those were just isolated incidences.

As I said earlier new V8 4.0l , new I6 3.0l , new I4 2.0l and new I4 1.5l

Those are the 4 next generation engines for the next decade of 20 years coming

I hope you're right about the 3.0 I6. A stroked version (3.5L-3.6L) would be ideal for BOF applications too, especially if Toyota kept it simple with a single turbo and an air-air intercooler. If Toyota offered a new Tundra with a turbo inline 6, I may very likely pick one up. I have no interest in the current Tundra.
