A 'classic car' is a bit overstated at the moment (here in Europe, to be considered a classic from age perspective the car should be at least 20-25 years old), but from influential aspects it sure is. To throw a bit of pepper in the discussion from European perspective: the Merc M-class (or ML) is perhaps as influential as the RX, being introduced more or less at the same time (or even a few months earlier, if I am not mistaken)? At a later stage in its development, I think the RX has been much more of a trendsetter having introduced the hybrid powertrain in this segment.
