【Announcing worldwide sales practices for 2023】
LEXUS' worldwide sales performance in January to December 2023 was a record high of 824,258 units (132% compared to the previous year). In addition to consistent demand centered around North America and Japan, the recovery of a stable supply of parts has contributed to the global sales deficit.

LEXUS continues the challenge of making cars that make customers smile quickly and accurately meet the needs of its customers and changing times.

Lexus achieved record sales in 2023 after shipping 824,258 cars – a whopping 132-percent jump compared to 2022. North America was by far the biggest region with 355,606 units (+124 percent), followed by Asia with 236,587 units (+113 percent) and domestic market Japan with 94,647 units (+229 percent).

Toyota did like 11.2 total. Absolutely crazy.

830k is awesome for Lexus... I believe this year can only get better due to LBX, TX and also full availability of RX and NX this year.

Both Toyota and Lexi are still filling out new orders, now I see ads about RX being available "today".

Considering the population difference, Lexus is now almost as popular in its home market (Japan) as in its launch market (NA).

JDM's consumer taste is beginning to resemble the international market. Fewer people buy kei cars, almost no one buy "compact cars" (in Japan's definition cars narrower than 1.7m and displacement less than 2.0L), these are replaced by real subcompacts and compacts offered on the inernational market; families buy real family size cars (midsize SUVs and sedans). These factors make Lexus and many other import brands increasingly popular. Also benefits Japanese brands themselves because there's less need to create JDM-specific models.

Now all they need are some competent sedans (and wagons) as well as more aspirational models. Having only two RWD sedans that are both languishing in your lineup is sad. Heck, the ES isn't even getting that much attention lately either.
It would be interesting to see what toyota decides for this segment as the new crown sedan is selling way better than expected and there are talks of increasing estimates from 600 monthly sales to more than 1000 per month which shows that the price increase, demise of v6 and substantial increase in size has hardly affected it and without the camry in midsize class toyota only has es to offer or you could upgrade to the full size crown so it would be interesting to see what direction they take with the es and whether they really go for 100% electrification given many emerging markets for lexus really don't have good electric infrastructure
