Porsche is working with international fuel companies and investing millions of dollars to develop hydrogen-based synthetic, renewable fuels to replace gasoline in ICE engines. The reasoning is so they can continue to sell combustion engines along with EV versions of cars like the 911 without worrying about CO2 emissions. Porsche will be initially using the fuel primarily for motorsports, but my hope is that it can one day be mainstream and an affordable alternative to gasoline for everyday consumers (I'm probably being very optimistic).
Personally, I'm all for this. I'm not ready to say goodbye to the gas-powered engine yet. I'm only 18 and I've never even experienced the feeling of being behind the wheel of a V8 yet 😕. The possibility of co-existence between EVs and ICEs was great news to hear.
What do you guys think?
