Helped my folks pick out a new car today and this is what we came home with. I've been going back and forth on a purchase between a Highlander and 4Runner for myself in the next 12 months, and after spending a few hours in this thing today... there is no comparison.

We were going to wait for the 2017 Highlander but after they were pushed back to December delivery, and with the current 3.5L/6AT being a well proven combo, we pulled the trigger now.

Black/Tan
AWD
Driver Tech package: Lane Departure Assist, Radar Cruise, Pre Collision

I really love how these things drive - truly feels like a class up, IMO. More to come as we break it in, but super happy so far!

Congratulations. :)

I agree that, for typical everyday driving, you'll probably find the Highlander more comfortable and easier to live with than a truck-based 4Runner.

Is that the black or the dark Nautical Blue paint? I can't really tell from the camera exposure.

Did you consider a new RX?..........or was the new styling this year just too much for you?

Well, now that you've spent the (presumably) better part of $40,000 on a brand-new ride, spend $4 and get a bottle of this:

Or, if you want, just PM me with your mailing address, and I'll pop one in the mail for you. I keep a number of bottles of it on hand, as I often give it to people as car-warming gifts who get new vehicles. It's good stuff, and will remove all kinds of surface scratches, scuff-marks, discolorations, etc..... from the top layer of clearcoat paint, leaving a smooth and polished (but not waxed) surface. I've used it myself for years.

Congratulations! In a similar position Jan 2015, my mother chose the 2015 4Runner Limited over the Highlander for the higher ride hight, but they're both fantastic vehicles- though the Highlander offers much more in terms of safety tech. The folks at Marietta Toyota pointed us in the direction of Lexus dealer nearby if we wanted Blind Spot Monitoring on our BOF SUV:laughing:

I've argued that Toyota Motor Corp has always had a 3row RX, and it's called the Highlander Limited. They're that nice IMO.

Thank you! We are loving it so far. It is Midnight Black Metallic which seems to be a very, very dark blue. It only doesn't look 100% black in direct sunlight, and I kind of like the effect.

Mom is not a fan of the new RX styling, and the Highlander has much, much more interior room. I don't even think I would personally buy an RX over the Highlander when you consider options and value.

You are very kind to offer the Scratchout! I remember you recommending it a few years ago on ClubLexus, and I've always kept a few bottles on hand since then. Thank you!

I hear you! I'd be more inclined to buy a 4Runner (personally) if they did have blind spot monitor and more than a 5AT. After having BSM on my Rav4, I just refuse to buy another car without it.

Thank you!

congrats to the folks for their new ride...what kinds of deals are there to be found right now on HL's? I could imagine not many incentives since these are selling well for ToMoCo.

Not a one. Only 2.9% financing for those who qualify. Worth it though!
