I know the SUV product hierarchy start with LBX, NX, RX, RZ, but what about the others?

The hierarchy really splits two ways. Sorting by luxury, the car-based CUVs go LBX at the bottom, then UX, NX, and RX/RZ/TX which are all at a similar level. The truck-based SUVs are GX at the lower level (but generally a step nicer than the RX/RZ/TX) and the LX flagship. There are currently some luxury features the GX has that the LX doesn't though. Hopefully that's an oversight that Lexus will correct.

For size the TX is the biggest. It's the only one that can fit full-size adults in the third row comfortably. The GX and LX are smaller because a shorter wheelbase is often an advantage in off-roading.

It's great to see your interest in the new Lexus SUV lineup. Lexus offers a diverse range of SUV models to cater to various preferences and needs.;) Here's an overview of the Lexus SUV hierarchy, from the largest to the entry level:

  1. Lexus LX: The Lexus LX is the largest and most luxurious SUV in the lineup. It's known for its spacious interior, advanced features, and strong off-road capabilities.
  2. Lexus GX: The Lexus GX is a midsize luxury SUV that offers a blend of luxury and ruggedness. It's designed for those who seek both comfort and adventure.
  3. Lexus RX: The Lexus RX is a popular midsize luxury SUV that focuses on a balance of comfort, performance, and style. It's available in standard and extended "L" versions.
  4. Lexus TX (Expected): The Lexus TX is rumored to be an upcoming three-row midsize luxury SUV, positioned between the RX and the LX. As of my last update in September 2021, specific details about the TX might have evolved.
  5. Lexus NX: The Lexus NX is a compact luxury SUV known for its sleek design, fuel efficiency, and innovative technology features.
  6. Lexus UX: The Lexus UX is the entry-level luxury SUV in the lineup. It's a subcompact SUV that offers a compact size, making it ideal for urban environments.
Please note that product lineups and model names can change over time as manufacturers introduce new vehicles or update existing ones. It's always a good idea to visit the official Lexus website or a local dealership for the most up-to-date information on their SUV lineup.

I hope this information helps you understand the hierarchy of Lexus SUVs better.

It's crazy to think that Lexus has 7 SUV's/CUV's if you also include the upcoming LBX.

BMW has 9 with the X1, X2, X3, X4, X5, X6 and X7. Also including the iX and XM

Audi with Q2 (sold outide U.S.), Q3, Q4, Q5, Q7 and Q8.

Mercedes with 9, GLA, GLB, GLC, GLE, GLS and G Wagon. Also including the EQB, EQE and EQS.

To be fair, as BMW gives the coupe versions a new name (X4 and X6), you can add two to Mercedes with the GLC Coupe and GLE Coupe. And Audi has them called Sportback, and the Q8 comprises two different cars on two different platforms, they added the e-Tron to Q8 family, so there are 11:
  • Q2
  • Q3
  • Q3 Sportback
  • Q4 e-Tron
  • Q4 Sportback e-Tron
  • Q5
  • Q5 Sportback
  • Q7
  • Q8 (basically a Q7 Sportback)
  • Q8 e-Tron
  • Q8 Sportback e-Tron

Now if to include Mini to BMW, usually the same dealership, and every common person knows Mini is a BMW…..but in that case the same goes for Smart….

Lexus Europe has “only” 5: LBX, UX, NX, RX, RZ.

New CUV to add to Audi's list, the up-coming Q6 e-Tron, so a total of 12 CUVs, barely different from each other... ...and VAG wonders how it can't keep the lid on costs...
