Lexus Perks of Ownership

It looks like last night was the LC reveal at a number of Lexus dealerships. Echoing RAL I also was invited to the official LC reveal and Grand Opening of a newly refurbished Tom Wood Lexus in Indianapolis. What a high class event! Incredible food, many people, quite a few Lexus execs. They had 2 LCs there, stunning is one word (some RC Fs as well) This is the second time I've seen the LC up close and, wow!, what a car. I want to add one other thing. I met a number of Lexus execs and I also met again the Lexus rep that I criticized a little in a post about a month ago for not knowing some things about the LC. A huge part of Lexus for me is that Lexus cares deeply about making the best luxury car and they really care about their customers. This was confirmed to me over and over last night. Also, I spent some time with the rep that I criticized and he really shone. He came up to me and even mentioned to some other execs that I knew a little more than him the last time (but not this time, he was on the mark last night). A fine person and a great rep for Lexus. here is a shout out to Bart Schlosser (GM of TW Lexus) for hosting the event and the many employees who welcomed me and others, regardless if they are a Lexus customer (there were a number of local residents who dropped by as well).

Nice posts, RAL. :) That looks like the same white LC500h on display a couple of months ago at the D.C. Auto Show. I got some shots of it in my cell-phone camera, but had some trouble uploading them.

Looks like a great event. I've enjoyed a few Lexus events in the past, but none in last few years.

Attached pics from display at SF auto show:

Thanks for posting, Steve. That looks like the same white LC that they had at the D.C. show.......on the same white display platform. I was surprised that, at the D.C. show, despite some interested lookers, it wasn't getting more attention than it did...a least when I was there. At the Lexus display here, the clear majority of the crowd seemed to be with the new RX, NX, and, somewhat surprisingly, the big LS sedan. They had two or three ES models present, but, despite its status as the bread-and-butter Lexus sedan, and its extreme popularity with seniors (I myself checked one out as a serious competitor to the Lacosse I eventually settled on), the ES models at the show did little but take up space. The RC coupe got at least some attention from the teens and twenty-ish age groups, but (seemingly) almost nothing from those over 30.

Same at S.F., or did you notice a different pattern? With the similarities in high-income/high-tech in both the D.C. and SFO/San Jose Areas, I wouldn't be surprised to see the same general sort of buyers in each area.

^ Similar observations at SF show, it's mainly due to SUV popularity across the entire US. Lincoln area was dead, more reps (and reps these days are often not really reps, but independent contractors) than lookers.

On topic, let's see if Lexus (or one of the 2 local dealerships) invites me to something this year...

Agreed on some of the reps. They often groom well and dress in smart-looking suits and wear gold or silver badges identifying them as "Product Specialists". But, with many of them, their actual knowledge is not very impressive....or, if it is, their bosses won't let them talk.

Are you formally part of the auto press now...or have press-credentials? I get a number of free D.C. show-passes each year, not because I'm part of the auto-press (I'm not) but because people I know in the business save them or me. I got an invitation from one automaker (don't remember which one) for a Drive-a-Thon event in the D.C. area, but I couldn't make it for health reasons....I think that was when I was recovering from knee surgery.

Last year I entered automotive industry (from tech), but not auto press.

I've enjoyed Lexus (new product) events in the past and hope for more.

So this is odd it seems at American Airlines Arena (Miami Heat) there is a Lexus Parking section and cars outside the Lexus Gate but the parking is not for Basketball games. I know since I got denied lol. But all the signage is there. It seems it is for non basketball events.

I'll take pics next time..
